Cocker, Joe - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood Lyrics
Baby, do you understand me now,
Sometimes I feel a little mad.
But, don't you know that no one alive can always be an angel.
When things go wrong I feel real bad.
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood.
Baby, sometimes I'm so carefree,
With a joy that's hard to hide.
And sometimes it seems that, all I have to do is worry
And then you're bound to see my other side.
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good,
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood.
I want you to know,
That I never mean to take it out on you.
Life has its problems,
And I get my share,
And that's one thing I never mean to do,
'Cause I love you,
Oh,
Oh, oh, oh, baby - don't you know I'm human.
I have thoughts like any other one.
Sometimes I find myself, Lord, regretting,
Some foolish thing - some little simple thing I've done.
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good,
Oh Lord, please don't let me be misunderstood.

We're going to be misunderstood, my man. I blame public education and the media.
I didn't think this song could get any better. Then I heard Joe Cocker cover it...oh my.
Is it just me or do certain aspects of this song slightly sound like 'You keep me hangin' on' by vanilla fudge?

Me too just mow.
Pure class ✌️
This version I think is better t han the animals. Joe Cocker was a legend that never got the credit. His energy and passion... You can't beat it. This song brings tears Everytime I hear it... Reminds me of my late father. Rip Joe Rip JSW

Magical!!!
this would of made a good song for sons of anarchy while Jax killed somebody!
HE'S STILL NOT IN THE HALL OF FAME
Chris L makes no sense at all!
Best cover by far of this song.Hammond and Guitar superlatives

Joe not being in the hall of fame is one of the great unspoken injustices of this fucked up world
i only known about this song because of movie called layer cake.
Wow. That's pathetic.
It wasn’’t just Cocker’s voice that made him so unique but also the fabulous musicians and their incredible interpretations of the famous tunes he decided to sing for us both in the beginning and until the end of his time with us.
Best version out there
Who's on keyboards? Great stuff!
Stanton I think is om keyboards
Esse é o cara!!! Mil....
this is heaven rock music
What a description
A song with the truthful aspects of the soul of each of us ... woman or man ..
Layer cake brought here, fantastic film with fantastic music including this gem from the great late Joe cocker!
I think he was so underrated as an artist , the man Was a legend and the way he could take any song and make it his own is a skill that most artists don't possess , when he sang I'll get by with a little help from my friend's he nailed it , no one covers Beatles songs because they can't be bettered , Joe Cocker did and nailed it . Legend
First time I heard this song was in the movie Layer Cake.👂
1972 for me...sharp song
I believe that's Jimmy Paige and Steve Winwood accompanying, circa 1968.
JP guitar.
Same on Sandpaper Cadillac.
Desde Argentina. ☆☆☆☆☆
Linda eu te quero.
It can be seen the influence of Nina Simone in Joe' s version , but the performance is great anyway ; due to the giant gift that Joe has been enherited with .

How is it I lived 37 yrs without knowing Joe recorded this magnificent piece... Love it. Heard it on Heartbeat.
everyone here's like r.i.p joe cocker but no one's like r.i.p xxxx
Lol. If it helps, XXXX actually lived. Became a bartender in Curacao.
For me this is his best ever song. It's wonderful!!
Henry McCullough on guitar RIP
Wonderful, as always.
I just love the organ solo in the middle.
I'm fairly certain that it was Steve Winwood, who played organ on this track + several others from Joe Cocker's first release, "With a Little Help From My Friends". Sure sounds like his work.
It's Tommy Eyre, who went on to play with the Aynsely Dunbar Retaliation
@robert richman Leon Russel on organ.
Leon Russel on organ.
@gordon sims Thanks for pointing out another possibility Gordon. However according to Wikipedia, it was in fact Tommy Eyre who played organ on both DLMBM and the title track following it.
Best copy of this song . I loved it. R.I.P. Joe
Just AMAZING
Anyone else remember this being used as background music for a PSA for drug or child abuse? That's where I first heard this version...a long, long time ago.
great version.
My Fave Version by Far. R.I.P. Joe

R.I.P Common People was a great song.
I can't believe I let this pass without remark...
R.I.P. Joe Cocker.
This is my all-time favorite cut of his, perhaps because the loose, funky jazziness of it.
I remembered (of course!) that this had been a single for the Animals 3 or 4 years earlier:
I had no idea that the tune was originally written for, and recorded by, Nina Simone.
R.I.P. Joe. - Woodstock no more.
R.i.p mr cocker.
juana galvan this could only be the work of... f A I R y G 0 d P a R e N t S !!!
RIP Joe. Thank you for the music.
Layer Cake - Got me here
@gemstone Who cares to you too, you stooge.
@Greg Tighe Do you only know this song from the 2nd rate movie?
lol same here
@Lucky Strike Nina Simone's was the original, it was the Animals that did the cover version. Another great cover version is the Flamenco / Disco 70's version by Santa Esmeralda.
Absolutamente certo, Rubens Silva.
Grazie a te l'ho conosciuta [(7)]
