Cochran, Eddie - Rock & Roll Blues Lyrics
Oh, dancin' all night, so I have my play
But how can I work when I sleep all day
I got those rock 'n' roll blues, those rock 'n' roll blues
I dig way down deep in my ol' blue jeans
I got those rock 'n' roll blues, those rock 'n' roll blues
I have the blues to fight
And to make things worse I fell in love last night
The little girl I found
Said to stop my hoppin' and settle down
Oh why can't there be two of poor ol' me
One on the dancefloor and one hangin' 'round the door
I got those rock 'n' roll blues, those rock 'n' roll blues
I have the blues to fight
And to make things worse I fell in love last night
The little girl I found
Said to stop my hoppin' and settle down
Oh why can't there be two of poor ol' me
One on the dancefloor and one hangin' 'round the door
I got those rock 'n' roll blues, those rock 'n' roll blues

Oh dancing all night so I had my play, but how can I work when I sleep all day?
boss. this must've spoke to the entire rock n roll generation. i can just see the beatles sipping tea in the cafe listening to this
Earl Palmer on drums!
i was 14 when i first listend to this song i am now 26 and still love it like the first time i listend to it RIP EDDIE
America's Finest!
Thanks Ed! Thanks for coming to England and moulding the Beatles and the Stones and various others. You personified America in the 1950's , brash, bold, and a totally positive influence on UK rock 'n' roll scene!
My earliest memories listening to this track..
Cor , what a singer Amazing
This one have such F*****G 50s feeling so I don't know what to do. Yes, I want to get back to the 50s, and esp here, where Eddie recorded this song, prob at Gold Star Studios.
Jesus... another brilliant song that didn't receive the recognition that it deserves. I hope we can do something for that 50 years later :)
My roommate is always playing this song!
I found myself always humming it.
I grew fond of this song.
He can never know
Blackmist187 why can he never know?
Total legend!
Une de mes préférées d'Eddie, allez savoir pourquoi ...
♪ How can work when I sleep all day ? Haha everybody knows it. Another great song more by Eddie. Yes it has a so strong 50s feeling, that's awesome !
@eus478
Couldn't agree more with ya bro!
allways been one of my favourites!
Wow! Smooth cool Eddie!
Awesome!
I have this ep from 1958 in swedish release. One of EDDIES best songs.
FYI, the sheetmusic/lyrics for this song were found in Eddie's guitar case after the car crash. I believe this song was meant for Ricky Nelson but he turned it down.
Eddie did so many types of songs, and all very well.
The interviews of him show he was a down to earth guy.
In the words of Shelby Singleton , that this excellence could be on a major label could "never happen in today's world". Thank God it did in the 50's!
hard to stand still with this song, pure rock 'n roll
Eddie Cochran,sa musique à tout jamais dans mon coeur
great song : )
fantastic
A very unknown Eddie Cochran song, even it was the 1st one I heard from him. Thanks for post it, I love it. Greetings from Spain.
only unknown by those who don't know Eddie :)
Got this track on an "EP". Nice song.
This one have such a wonderful '50s Rockn'Roll feeling.
HE'S THE BEST. PERIOD.
One of his best.
very well said about eddies voice
great beat and his voice it great.thanks eddie
Well, actually it is the Rock n Roll Blues that he is singing so, I really think the melhanconic voice fits it just perfectly. By the way, the lyrics make you understand that is eddie in person telling he's problems so, an happy, sparkling tune wouldn't fit at all with a bluesy song :)
Long Live Eddie Cochran
Love this song!
