Cliff, Jimmy - Sooner Or Later Lyrics

It's getting to the point
Where I can't hang around no more
It's getting to the point
Where really have to open up the door

Times are changing
You better use your sense
Use what you've got
From coincidence
Hear me now!

Sooner or later you gonna have to stand up tall
Sooner or later when your backs against that wall
Sooner or later you'll have to be the one you are
And you just might find that you're out of time
And it's just too late

Hear me now!

Heavy burden gets you down
And pressure is all around
Sit around and hesitate
Say you're waiting for a lucky break

Life's for living
Better use your sense
Use what you've got
From coincidence
Hear me now!

Sooner or later you gonna have to stand up tall
Sooner or later when your backs against that wall
Sooner or later you'll have to be the one you are
Or you just might find that you're out of time
And it's just too late

Heavy burden gets you down
And pressure is all around
You sit around and hesitate
Say you're waiting for the lucky break

Life's for living
Better use your sense
Use what you've got
From coincidence
Hear me now!

Sooner or later you gonna have to stand up tall
Sooner or later when your backs against that wall
Sooner or later you'll have to be the one you are
Or you just might find that you're out of time
And it's just too late

Whoa. I really needed to hear this tonight.Far from friends, family, or anyone, totally alone in an airport hotel in a strange city, with no one and no hope and no money. "Sooner or later, you have to be the one you are," that's quite a tall order. Great song, great voice. i'm terrified.

    L.... B....

Absolutely right. Most ppl only like the Marley name due to its affiliation with popular weed culture these days. Props to all reggae masters

Jimmy Cliff: I just want to thank you for your talents. I enjoyed your songs in the
1970s when I was in Port Harcourt Nigeria. I now live in the United States of America and
    I still listen to your songs on Youtube. Thanks also to the modern digital age of technology;
Your songs remind me of those years when I was growing up in West Africa. Thanks again.

  30. b.... ....

I've grown up to raggae music and Jimmy was one of the main ones my parents played and he was indeed a pioneer.

  35. T.... L....

@Jeje7066 You are scum. Show some respect when dealing with anything to do with Mr Cliff. Palerider81 has taken the time to share this wonderful music with us you show such disrespect. Scum.

  36. S.... V....

agree 100%. it's kinda the same with mr Tosh aswell. for me he is one of the most underrated musicians and a living legend!

  37. 1.... ....

songs of life, tucked away as an album track, just ooozing class should have been a 45.

  38. T.... ....

I remember seeing "The Harder They Come" and being so intrigued by Jimmy Cliff. His music is timeless and tearfully soulful.

  39. P.... ....

Exactly, you've took the word out of my mouth here tazz! Respect to Marley, but also let us not forget the other pioneers of reggae, rocksteady and ska music.

  40. t.... ....

Oh man, I love me some Jimmy Cliff. It bothers me when people talk about liking reggae music, but the only people they can name are Bob Marley and his sons. No disrespect to them, but Jimmy was a pioneer, playing this kind of music before many people outside of Jamaica even knew who Bob Marley was. I just wish more young people today who are keeping reggae alive knew about my man Jimmy Cliff.

  41. P.... ....

    Nicely said,thanks:)

  42. R.... A....

Nice one PaleRider! Absolutely hits the spot every time. The words are simply a wonderous tour of mans fear and pressure in a changing world.
