Clash, The - Mustapha Dance Lyrics

The sheik he drove his cadillac

Shareef
Rockin the casbah
Rock

He thinks it's not kosher
Fundamentally he can't take it
You know he really hates it
Really, really hates it

  10. R.... G....

Its like a short version of the extended version but without that much of lyrics

  11. J.... K....

I remember when I found this gem collecting the discography online.  It is so good that it should not exist.  But it does.

  12. M.... D....

    stands the test of time

  13. J.... M....

I can still remember my crushing disappointment with at least half of Combat Rock - would've made a great EP - but I still think Rock The Casbah is right up there with the Clash's best songs. I love its raw sienna sound, ha, if that makes sense. It has a dark funkiness.

    J.... M....

The sold two albums worth of songs for the price of one, so you really can't complain.

    J.... M....

Im so sorry The Clash let you down on Combat Rock. What have you done? How is your job going? ☠

  14. j.... ....

Rock The Casbah is a piece of fucking genius music! Love it. I only started listening to The Clash recently although I am in my 40´s. Don´t know what took me so long.

  15. R.... K....

    SO fucking cool

  16. c.... ....

    love this version

  17. f.... ....

still ave this vinyl. used to dance to it all the time :)

  18. g.... ....

This is not only incredible, the congas, the slammin bass, the handclaps, and those lasers.....sublime and funky as hell, but it sounds like something 99 Records, or perhaps ZE Records would come out with;it has that underground, Lower East Side, Punk Funk sound. I may be mistaken, but aI think I heard that Larry Levan would play this record at the Paradise Garage in NYC.

    g.... ....

The Clash were super hip into the early 80s club & breaking scenes, early hip hop that was coming out of NYC & the boogie down Bronx.

    g.... ....

I don't like punk music usually, but this is an exception.

  19. t.... ....

I saw the Clash when they were touring for the album "Combat Rock" - 1982 I think (??).  Awesome concert!  Shame Joe Strummer is not here anymore - they were a great band with a fantastic stage presence and an important social message

I always did prefer this dub instrumental version over the regular version of it. Back in '82 when this song was popular, none of the local radio stations where I lived at was playing this version, hence I didn't know about it. That was until my mom and I had to make a trip up to Newport News, Virginia in '83 and whilst going through my birthplace on I-40, I had the radio on my boom box tuned into 107.5 WKZL and that's where I heard this version at for the first time. Needless to say the least, I had my tape recorder running that day and I used to play the heck out of that mix tape when I got back home. Good memories.

    R.... S....

+Robbie Stewart Our local album rock station actually played this version in their rotation in 1982 and I was loving it. Matter of fact, they played a lot of the 12 inch singles and import variations of songs that were harder to come by back then.

  33. P.... ....
