Just a beautiful version of this great song sang by one of the most beautiful woman from the 60's. Petula's wonderful talent as a singer still today shows why she can be considered and Icon and Legend in the world of music. One of my favorite singer's of all time.

Maybe the best cover of this fabulous song (the french version has better lyrics, but the english version is smoother). Better imo than Nancy Sinatra's version (although it was quite similar), or Tom Jones', or even Dylan's. I usually like Nina Simone, but it didn't feel at all like the same song, Sonny & Cher's butchered it... Of course, Presley's cover is sumptuous, but it doesn't count ! Andy Williams did great as usual, and Willie Nelson's is very moving... However, they don't top Clark's.

Just a correction: Elvis Presley live version comes from February 17th 1970 - Midnight Show at the International Hotel (Hilton Hotel after 1972) and it was released in the LP Elvis On Stage.

Such a beautiful, sensitive tune, too bad ex number 2 had it sung at our wedding. she never meant it. she was just a day tripper.
