Clapton, Eric - Bad Influence Lyrics
You use me to get you anything you wanted.
Oh, but I'm a changed man now, baby,
And your other friend can get you what you want now.
If I go through those same things again,
I'll be worse off than I started.
[Chorus:]
Girl, you're such a bad influence
And you've got ways to make me do what you want.
Girl, you're such a bad influence;
I've got to stay away.
I've been hurt in all of the worst kind of ways,
And it's you pretty baby,
I've just got to stay away from.
I won't go through those same things again;
[Chorus]
Somebody please, you've got to help me break away.
You know I don't like this lonely feeling.
It wasn't meant to be this way.
I won't go through those same things again;
I'm so glad we parted.
[Chorus]
You're such a bad influence;
And I have got to stay away.
You're such a bad influence;
I've got to stay away from you, baby.
I've got to stay away.

Clapton, Eric Bad Influence Comments
I was 17 when this was released. I had been a fan of Clapton for a few years at the time and love his work from the 80's. Much better, to me than other "artists" of the era. The two albums done with Phil Collins in the mid eighties sound like they were made in that decade for sure, but the musicians involved were world-class and the live shows at the time were superb as well. Clapton and company were real musicians in an era full of way too many MTV created posers. As the years go by and music continues to decline, his massive body of work just shines brighter and brighter to me. Clapton had Robert Cray as his opening act in '86 also and they are still the guys I listen to the most today.
What an over produced mess. None of the soulful pain of the original.
Not a Clapton hater, I just think he missed the mark here.
Eric this album is my all time favorite of you.
And behind The Mask is legendary with those eighties magical vibes.
Great song,album,artist,band,production and decade.
1986...!! 19yrs. old, just moved outta home, 1st summer on my own..this record along with Winwood's High Life, Simon's Graceland and Gabriel's So..what a time to be young and free and what a great summer it was..wish time could have stood still..and one of my favorite Brecker solo's..
Great song, great album. I liked his Phil Collins produced albums.
Heu... merci Stevie Wonder ! Enfin, j'aime bien cet album malgré tout !
This is one of my all time favorites since 1986. No songs to skip over. Every one is awesome. A nice flowing record.
The hunt begins for the 13 that hit dislike!
Great album!
This was written by Robert Cray years earlier (not by E.C.).
No one said it was!! But it's far better than Robs version. 👍
This was originally sung by Robert Cray on his 1983 album of the same name.
This eerily reminds me of Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely," mostly the harmonica solo, the transitions between the verses, and the rhythm.
Daniel Weddell wow I’m so glad someone else sees it!!
Or hears it I should say
His solo at the end just keeps on jammin
Awesome tune for all you jezebels out there lolz.
E. Shawn Aylsworth haha yeppers
This album is awesome every.single.song
