Church, The - Lost Lyrics
Sometimes I'm wond'ring under prehistoric skies
I feel it's all beginning right before my eyes
I must go back, re-examine my love
And here she comes with the penetrated stare
I don't know when, but I wish I knew where
Because we're lost, because we're lost
Cold desert stars, feel them sparkle and frost
They are so lost
Follow her down to worship some god
Who never speaks to me, I wonder if that's odd
Then he says you're never listening
The pursuit of adulation is your butter and your bread
It's an exquisite corpse and its lips are red
But you are lost, but you are lost
Now hang up 'cause the lines are all crossed
You are so lost
If you're alone and you're feeling blue,
Everyone in Persia probably feels like that too
I just hope they don't believe like you do
And here she comes with her unforgiving web
Almost forever I've been drinking these dregs
It must be time to change our brew, cruel, view
Before we're lost, before we're lost
Look at the map, add up the cost
Before we're lost

Hold your head up high boys ! Australian legends
Wasn't expecting this album to be so good tbh
Awesome album
Lying on the grass at night... staring at the stars in springtime
you're never listening
One of my all time favorite albums. Every song is great. Brings back memories for me from another time, another place.
One of the best albums ever...start to finish.
"is this loss?"
I love that lryric:
"follow her down to whorship some god, who never speaks to me I wonder if that's odd."
"then he says 'you never listening....'"
I love that concept: a chill god, who will help you out if you want it.
For deaf ears.
HUH? 8 have clicked down? wao, am surely for democracy, but sorry to say that in this proper case, we have 8 twats... hey come on show us please YOUR music, surely I will laugh until Christmas..... CRETINS. Besides this? one word, this song is Diamond
Lost... Pure emotions 🎶
Back when video game music was horribly annoying, I would turn off the game music, and listen to my cd player. I was playing prophecy of the shadow, and listening to this album(starfish). I was horribly lost in the game, and this song was playing, it has had a special spot, ever since then. nostalgia
Underappreciated, even in their own country. Most people only remember them for a few hits back in the 80's, but they have been releasing sublime albums for decades. There have been more famous and revered Australian bands (most of whom made only one or two decent albums in their careers), but The Church stand head and shoulders above them all in terms of quality, consistency, and relevance.
normanbates' mom amen. I saw them in 1988 in KC. One of the best concerts ever.
With you
Been an consistent fan of theirs since 1982 and seen them live a gang of times...
I saw these cats back in the day...Everyone was waiting for "Under The Milkyway"...I liked that song, but i liked this one better...They were playing in a small place, so you could go up and talk to them..During the set break, I asked if they could play this...They did!!! I was in heaven!! Blue Aeroplane opened for them. They were playing in Washington D.C. at an old sound studio that used to be a roller skating rink...The acoustics were awesome there!!!
One person got Lost on Youtube.
Your most Awsome . Powerful Song . Sound like Bob Dillon . Thank You
The best lyric from this song is "cold desert stars....sparkle like frost"
Hacia dias...:)
Great band.
Sort of like a post-Waters Pink Floyd, in a way. I wish I'd known this band in high school. Probably would have made things easier.
Such a haunting song! The Church were one of the best Australian bands of all time!
Agree with you...And, they still are..one of the best anywhere and building their legacy further/Deeper.
who would click dislike for this? you'd have to be out of your freaking gourd.
@PlanTonto I saw that tour in Los Angeles!!! Amazing.
By far one of my all time favorite tunes from that era. I remember seeing these guys back in the day at a very small venue. Great time...Blue Aeroplane opened for them in D.C.
amazing track. just rediscovered it and sat there with goosebumps. seems to be built with some untouchable & mysterious audio DNA
