Is it just me, or did he miss a real opportunity here. He could have kept the first verse then went on about the real monsters in life. It could have been much akin to George Jones' "Choices."

Truth! I've met monsters in person & they weren't beneath my bed. The worst: One was a pastor and one heralded as "woman of the year" & ED of an Assisted Living in GA. The evil within both devastated many, went completely unnoticed by others, & left their marks on me. Wolves in sheep's clothing. Still don't know why these monsters crossed my path, but thank God that He protected me & gave me insight in both situations. Most thankful their evil didn't destroy my faith or belief in God... strong foundation since childhood. God is good, faithful, & like a good Daddy, when asked, He handles the monsters in your life. Ever grateful!
