Chuck Berry - The Things I Used To Do Lyrics

Things that I used to do,
Some I won't do no more
Things that I used to do
Some I won't do no more

Used to sit and hold your hand, baby
Begging?you, not today

Used to search all night for you baby
And I search always anything
Used to search all night for you baby
And I search always anything
Yeah, and I'm new alone again, darlin'
You was out somewhere with your other man

I'm gonna send you back to your mother, baby
Or I'm gonna back to my family too
I'm gonna send you back to your mother, baby
Or I'm gonna back to my family too

Nothing I ever do pleases you, darlin'
Or I just can't get along with you.

Ain't near one of them white people behind Chuck got no idea what he's singing about. They be sittin there all stupid and stuff.

    M.... D....

    Don Lovell 😯
They had no idea what they were hearing American Bluesman, maybe for 1st time, look like he's in Belgium. They knew some jazz riffs tho, Europe was in that game, especially France,, looked like the drummer was catching on give it time they ain't stupid this was near a worldwide paradigm shift rock hardly existed, meanwhile black dudes in Mississippi , Texas , Chicago n south states staying put with blues, Chuck went after white mans money, more like white kids money, you didn't see that kinda showmanship in blues maybe Little Richard look closer n think man fo ya call people stupid. They had a different culture very very old so peoples all over world different so fucking what! That's a good thing, its CULTURE not COLOR once you get that thru yo thick skull ya gets real smart, not sittin on your porch laughin at the world passin y'all by. There's something or a lot in this video you miss it if you think everybody's sposed' ta be boppin round. I'm schoolin ya man no disrespect here.🌚🌝=1🌎

    M.... D....

@homesick clifford well i understand the culture thing pro and con. but with me its just about the art. the music fn grand. idont worship it but sure do like it

  19. M.... ....

Guitar Slim would be proud of this version. Rock on Chuck Berry!

  20. a.... c....

    r i p guitar slim and chuck

  21. P.... P....

Absolutely mesmeric performance, both on the vocals and that wonderful guitar. I saw him on this tour in 1965, when he was at his absolute best. No one could touch him. Forget Chuck the imperfect man and just wallow in the great music he has left us.

  22. J.... O....

1965, meanwhile Elvis was filming Harum Scarum... Never saw Chuck Berry so involved with a song. Maybe he was a Bluesman deep inside. Great cover of this Guitar Slim's classic

  23. J.... C....

Jaw dropping awe ... Those notes, ffs.

  24. C.... P....

    g ob smacking brill

  25. J.... D....

Where did the blues become rock and roll? Right. The Fuck. Here.

  26. A.... S....

    Chuck: the most authentic rock!

    A.... S....

His riffs sound a lot like T-
    Bone Walker

    A.... S....

@David Sandler 1 of his main heroes. peace

  27. S.... B....

A musical genius! Diggin’ the Professor on the 88 keys also. :) Good stuff!

    S.... B....

I came here for the Emperor of Guitar, and left loving Prof. Piano and Dr. Double Bass as they both loved every second of this

  28. H.... J....

The greatest ever! Who could compare with Chuck Berry?

  29. R.... P....

    The King!

  30. N.... ....

  33. A.... N....

    Chuck

  34. D.... ....

He was a rock n roller for sure, also a blues man

    D.... ....

    Daytimerocker 😯
Other way around man rock came from blues these cats present gettin a real treat American Bluesman look closer some of his voicings are who he really was, I say was because he had to get that dollar and the white kids had most of it so rock n roll back then white parents didn't want no back idols, he was really a smart dude, all that showmanship wasn't seen in most bluesmen this might been where " duckwalk" began may Little Richard too fits this description😯

  35. C.... ....

Amazing legacy left by that Black Monolith in 2001....Hail Hail Rock and Roll..Squa Tront Spa Fon!!!
