Christy Moore - Easter Snow Lyrics

Oh the Easter snow
It has faded away
It was so rare and beautiful
And it melted back into the clay

Those days will be remembered
Beyond out in the Naul
Listening to the master's notes
As gently they did fall
Oh the music
When Seamus he did play
But the thaw came on the mantle white
And turned it back into the clay

He gazed at the embers in reflection
Called up lost verses again
Smiled in roguish recollection
While his fingers gripped the glass to stem the pain
When knocked upon his door would open
With a welcome he'd bid the time of day
Though you came when the last flakes had melted
While it lay upon the ground you stayed away

Dedicated to the late Seamus Ennis. I wonder is that the recently deceased Liam O'Flynn playing Uilleann Pipes in the last verse. Seamus willed that Liam should be given his set of Pipes and those were the pipes that Liam played all his life.

My brother also stayed in a caravan in Dublin, sadly he passed away but got in contact with one of the boys he stayed with there, heading over to Ireland to meet up with him and his family. Keeping his memory alive thanks to this song x x x

i was homeless years ago and i was staying in a mobile home and it snowed in dublin at easter in 94,and the song evokes the emotions of the time, smiling at a rogueish recollection, while fingers grip the glass to stem the pain.
