As a sufferer of childhood abuse, and as a soldier that went through some brutal shit. That was not war. That was far worse than war. In war, you understand the trauma. In war there is reason for it. In war there is a greater purpose. In war you have brothers to lean on, going through the same shit. In war you are prepared. In war, you may (probably) eventually come home. Abuse has none of those. Abuse is a living fucking hell.

Agreed. I went through the same.. and the fear and depression are terrible but I'm doing way better now. As a matter of fact.. in my family, the trauma/ptsd stemmed from someone who fought in the war.
