This song used to come on Vh1 in the mornings when it came out 11 years ago & I was 11 years old. I loved it so much it made me feel so nostalgic for a time and place that I never knew. I lost it for these 11 years but thought about it ALL THE TIME I didn’t know any lyrics or that this was Chrisette Michele so I thought I’d never hear it again. I heard it while grocery shopping yesterday and I started tearing up when I realized it was the song I’ve looked for for all these years. Yesterday i also got out of a five year relationship so now I’m listening to this & shedding tears lol. It came around at the perfect time and as a 22 yo who has experienced heartbreak it makes sense in a way that it never did to my 11 year old self. Thank you so so so much Chrisette Michele for making this magical music.
