Chris Tomlin - Winter Snow Lyrics

Could've come like a mighty storm
With all the strength of a hurricane
You could've come like a forest fire
With the power of Heaven in Your flame

But You came like a winter snow
Quiet and soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

You could've swept in like a tidal wave
Or an ocean to ravish our hearts
You could have come through like a roaring flood
To wipe away the things we've scarred

But You came like a winter snow, yes, You did
You were quiet, You were soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

Ooh no, Your voice wasn't in a bush burning
No, Your voice wasn't in a rushing wind
It was still, it was small, it was hidden

Oh, You came like a winter snow
Quiet and soft and slow
Falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

Falling, oh yeah, to the earth below
You came falling from the sky in the night
To the earth below

Maybe you're not sure about God but I am definitely sure He exists! God doesn't want the beating of slaves or even killing but just as God is real so is Satan and he hates God and everything good that exists in this world so he brings about all of the evil you see around you. Jesus said "In the world you will have tribulation, but do not fear for I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). No one who has been born again WILL EVER understand God. You need to have an encounter with Jesus to fully understand HIM! Open your heart, let Him come inside and watch HIM totally change your way of being so you can then see things in a whole new light!!!

Also, you can't list the things you believe my God allows, without backing it up with scripture. I know of the scripture you're referring to in many cases (Exodus 21:20), but the problem is, you don't understand the scripture at all. Exodus does not permit beating a slave, and i'd love to talk about it somewhere that will allow us more than 500 or so characters per response to discuss it. Hit me up in messages...we'll talk.

    Much love and peace friend.

Actually, there's a 4th scenario, that closely resembles your God version 1, but instead of treating us like an ant farm, he treats us like children. Have you ever wondered why we have children? It's certainly not to watch like an ant farm, it's because they bring joy to our lives, we love to hold them when their heart is broken, take care of them when they're sick, give them the world when we can and simply enjoy their presence and watching them grow. I like that idea of God better.

There is not evidence for or against any of these stories. They may be true or false, but the god described in the bible makes less sense than any of these because he is supposed to have contradictory properties. He is supposed to be loving and yet supposedly permitted owning and beating slaves, killing gays, drunk teenagers, atheists, worshipers of other gods, people who work on the Sabbath etc. /watch?v=vkXOwBIRX7Y&feature=B¬¬Fa&list=PL6238D6BF1B0D0E0B

We cannot be sure if some god of some kind exists. All of the following scenarios are possible: 1. A god created our universe in the same way that we might buy an ant farm, just to watch it for entertainment, but he never contacts us or cares what we do, 2 an evil god made us just so he could see suffering and that’s the only thing he enjoys about watching us, 3 there is a whole society of gods and one or more made our universe. continued...
