Chicago - Remember The Feeling Lyrics

Shadows were hiding what I couldn't see
Out in the dark - she was calling to me
Calling to me with a voice I'd never forget
She was a vision I couldn't believe
I held her close so that she wouldn't leave
Suddenly helpless - hopelessly falling in love

[CHORUS:]
I remember the feeling
I remember the was
She came up and wrapped her arms around me
Told me that she cared
Said she'd always be there
Taking me places that I've never been
She had the beauty that comes from within'
Was dreaming was it too good to be true
I was a man all alone in the night
She came along and she showed me the light
I was confused then she told me the way
I was alone and I begged her to stay She was alive I was caught by the fire
She brought emotions that filled my desire
I should have noticed that something was wrong
When I was awoke she was gone

[CHORUS]

She was alive I was caught by the fire
She brought emotions that filled my desire
I should have noticed that something was wrong
When I awoke, I could see that she was gone

Chicago Remember The Feeling Comments

I bought Chicago 17 on cassette when it was a new release. I was just a kid then I couldn't wait to get home and cut the long plastic keep you from stealing thing off. I can almost smell the new cassette tape smell when I listen to these songs now 30-some years later. Must have listened to whole album at least a few hundred times.

i cannot listen to this one , my first love dedicated this one to me , she was killed in a motorcycling accident in 1987 when we were together she was 18 !!!! i will never forget her .. rip i will see you in heaven . it was the hardest time i ever had in my life .

  13. j.... ....

It probably wasn't released as a single since it's a walz (3/4) that turns into "normal" 4/4 - the label probably deemed that not suitable for a single.

  14. L.... D....

This song to me remains my favourite Chicago song as soon as I heard it back in the 80s.

  15. m.... w....

chicago was at their best when peter cetera was with them

  16. S.... F....

I am in a debate between myself, my wife, and a friend of ours. Did his love interest leave him or die?

    S.... F....

    She leaves him

Chicago, one of my favorite bands. progressive and classic....

  25. M.... K....

Rip dad and mum dedicated to my late parents, much loved and missed.

  26. M.... P....

It could be the master piece of the entire album. In the mid eighties when 17 came out I played this cassette to death. To this day one of their best.

  27. D.... 7....

    Much great!!

  28. K.... F....

Susan Dekking wherever U are I will never forget U. U will always be my Sunshine.

  29. t.... ....

This is such an underrated song. One of the best love songs I’ve ever heard. The violins make it so emotional.

  30. H.... D....

One example that the best music of an album is not the chosen to play on the radio. There are a lot of unknow musics better than the famous ones. This for me is the best music of all Chicago´s life. Thanks for "remember"

    H.... D....

Harold Dalmeida Jr exactly why I am rebuilding my vinyl library! So much music soon to be lost if we don’t rescue it!

  31. G.... H....

Bought All that Chicago ever made.. Peter Cetera has such a beautiful voice . And the memories that these songs bring back still make chill bumps on my arms !!

    G.... H....

Granville, although we have slightly different musical experiences about this magnificent band, I readily identify with the part of your post that mentioned stirred memories. Chicago 17 in its entirety does that for me. A nice first name by the way. :)

  32. K.... S....

Peter Cetera, Robert Lamm, Bill Champlin & David Foster were singing in this album! 4 excellent singers in 1981 - 1985 but nowdays it's ONLY 1!

  33. L.... H....

    Hauntingly beautiful!

  34. B.... G....

CHICAGO 17 I do love all the songs in this album. Specially this is the last album with Peter Cetera. My Personal Favorite are You're The Inspiration, Hard Habit to Break and this one. I remember the Feeling. it reminds me of Someone Special way back 1984.

  35. A.... M....

Totally sounds fitting for a wet dream, and waking up afterwards, finding out it was all a fantasy...

  36. M.... ....

Epic song until 1:30... Cetera sings "Was it too good to be true?" Yes too me it seems, Cetera please pleaseee pleaseeeee remake the ending of this beautiful song.

    M.... ....

HI MVG YOU ARE SO RIGHT..

    M.... ....

I agree more with MVG 1 maand geleden, but really I think you are both right in a way.

  37. t.... 8....

Patricia Orlandi My passion also. 😉

  40. P.... L....

I can relate to this song 😢💔 but I LOVE IT

  41. D.... W....

Why wasn't this song ever released as a single? Perhaps the best song on this album.

    D.... W....

It was. It was released as the B-side of "Hard Habit To Break" on 45

    D.... W....

    Had to be A-Side

    D.... W....

I agree. So underrated. It probably would have been a top 10 song easily.

    D.... W....

"You're the inspiration" has a stronger chorus IMO. Easier probably but very singy singy. This one is more elaborated

  42. S.... ....

    Piękne 😍

  43. .... ....

Chicago 17 the best album of rock !

  44. R.... G....

Chicago was a great band and Cetera was a great bassist/vocalist, but this song is simply awful.

    R.... G....

    Robert G. How?

  45. J.... G....

Is the Chicago 17 album any good?

    J.... G....

One of the best.. every song in it is a favourite.. the best of Cetera era Chicago

    J.... G....

Jimmy Gross it’s one of the top 3 greatest Chicago albums of all time.

    J.... G....

Chicago 17 is their most sucessful album sales wise to date.

    J.... G....

    It's excellent!

  46. J.... H....

This song reminds me of my first love. We laid down in a field across from a party we were at in high school on sunset ave. We just made out, didn't do much more. It was just a wonderful moment and once in a while I would drive down Sunset ave to re-live the moment. There is a housing development on top of that field now...

    J.... H....

Thanks for that memory from a total stranger ill never meet lol wtf

  47. T.... S....

this is my favorite album of all time

    T.... S....

    hahahaha, stunning!

  48. K.... K....

this song is one of the greatest songs ever writen by Chicago. People who have found real big love. Know that the end of the song is different.  Mabye it should have gone more like this: When I Awoke,  I could see that she was there. Ohhhh Ohhhhh, See was there . Happy endings and real love is there for all, you just have to finde it. karls1.

  49. P.... A....

its hard to masturbate on this song

    P.... A....

tell your cellmate to do it for you then

  50. a.... ....

No one can even come close to duplicating Peter's voice. His voice has a very unusual tenor to it and he has perfect pitch. Chicago never performed this song live. Peter and Bill champlin wrote this song. He stills sounds good at age 71. His concert at The Saban is Beverly Hills a couple of weeks ago was outstanding. You can see excerpts on Youtube. He is my favorite.

    a.... ....

You are so true! There is nobody close to Cetera. The and of the song still makes me cry at 56.

    a.... ....

In comparison to who or what tho? For his genre? Possibly, but he's not that extremely unique a vocal talent as you'd like to believe..youre just biased because he's your favorite singer obviously and im a huge Chicago fan used to cover their songs in a band i played in years ago

    a.... ....

No one will ever come close to Peters magical voice.

    a.... ....

Such a shame it was never performed live. I absolutely love this song but haven't really been aware of it back in the day... More recently.

  51. E.... B....

Today Peter Cetera is my favorite artist. His range on "Remember The Feeling" is incredible. I wish we the fans saw more of Mr Cetera on stage. What a voice/talent.

  52. N.... N....

One on my favorites off this album----"Remember the Feeling". To bad Cetera is still not with Chicago!!!!!-----NXN

  53. J.... K....

This song has the most beautiful chord progressions....The lyrics just tip the cake off with icing. I love it all...

    J.... K....

Much agreed! This whole album was full of great harmonic and melodic stuff!

    J.... K....

Learning it on keys theae past few weeks..not as easy as it sounds

    J.... K....

It has a Toto vibe to it.

  54. M.... A....

    Iove peter cetera!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  64. D.... M....
