Chicago - Never Been In Love Before Lyrics

I've never been in love before
Not like this you taught me more
How among myself will I
Lift up on myself and cry
'Cause I thought I could not give
My thought would not let me live
How my feeling disappeared
You are lovely reason I
Am alive you satisfy
All my senses and you give
Me the confidence to grow
In a thousand different ways
Happy just to spend the days
Of my lifetime by your side
I want to be
Everything that I can
I want so much
To be more of a man
I want to grow
I want to know you better
Each day I'll try
To love you
'Cause I've never been in love before
You have a friend for life in me
If we ever disagree
If you have to go away
I will set you free with time
'Cause your happiness is mine
May our light forever shine
When you always feel free
I want to be
Everything that I can
I want so much
To be more of a man
I want to live
I want to give my lifetime
Each day I'll try
To love you
'Cause I've never been in love before

Great info! My favorite non-hits are All is Well, Never Been in Love Before, Mama Mama, What Can I Say. Wait a minute, this list could get as long as yours! Chicago V was my first album and I have loved the band since the early 70's.

  4. G.... ....

    Gorgeous song

  5. P.... L....

Love to hear Jimmy's background vocals! Great tune!!!

  6. L.... A....

I loved this song so much when the album came out and then sort of drifted away from Chicago for decades. I had forgotten all about it. What a joy to rediscover it!

@MIKECNW Hmm - good question. I didn't buy IX because I already had all their "greatest hits" - after that, it seemed like our musical tastes were headed in different directions. I like "Now" a lot, though - and Lamm's solo stuff. I don't get why later Chicago albums didn't totally feature his compositions the way the early records did.

    L.... A....

    Lamm's solo work is excellent

@Gregoryt700 Actually his 1st solo work. Called Skinny Boy. Good stuff. Terry played bass on it

@Lee Ann Millar well Lee Ann unfortunately after Terry died the tides are turned one James William Guricio was no longer producing either...basically they bowed down and began to worship one mr. David Foster who was known for sweetening everything artificially with surpy ballads...still to this day one looks up David Foster will know by the time after hot streets came out and Street player came about they were pretty much slowly nipping out of his bottle..
by the time 1982 came about they were a full-blown ballad band sadly

I think peters voice is incredible , you always know his distinctive voice when you hear it , he's my no 1 guy 💜

    1:55 INTERLUDE

  8. A.... G....

    esta cancion
    para mi la mas bella
    de la banda Chicago

  9. b.... ....

The production is beyond amazing, genius tune from Mr. Lamm!

    b.... ....

The song book is black paper with white music notes hard to read but worth it to play on the piano

    b.... ....

What a band. What an effin great band

  10. w.... ....

Robert made the songwriters hall of fame on the hits but songs like this show his talent more than 25 or 6 to r does

    w.... ....

Yeah really, i think some of the deeper tracks exceed the obvious hits.

    w.... ....

I love this one, a lot!

    w.... ....

25 or 6 to 4 is overrated. Not even in the top 10 Chicago songs. IMO
