This song is amazing. Her voice is great. Its like a warm breeze where you just let yourself go. This coming from a guy who listens mostly to progressive/post metal/rock. I feel that her way of singing, in a more tone heavy song would be great. Like a smooth stoner song. Great stuff.

+HIiba el You can hear that her vocal is right out front in the mix, so you can understand everything she's saying, right? Chelsea doesn't like that style of vocal mix. She prefers to be further back, with tons of reverb, so that her voice is part of the entire musical composition and not separate / isolated from it. It's her signature sound. This is purely an aesthetic preference. But there is also the matter of the actual lyrics being incredibly pretentious and "embarrassing" (her words). She was pretty young when she recorded this album, so it is likely she felt at some point that the words were juvenile, melodramatic, and (as another commenter wrote) typical. She has matured as an artist since this album, which is a good thing. Some people refer to this as 'finding their voice'.

Its cool, but you can tell she hadn't found 'her sound' i guess.

She wasn't talking about this song in particular. She was talking about the album. I heard 2 other songs off of it and sorry to say they were horrible. There's absolutely nothing wrong with winter. It's not sloppy and there are no sour notes. This song is flawless.
