This song is about Xu Lizhi, a young Chinese worker who ended his life back in 2014. During his short lifetime, he wrote some wondrous poems. The poems were about the hard and unforgiving lives of the workers. The song's name is a reference to one of his poems: "I swallowed a Moon Made of Iron"

He was born only two weeks after I came to this world and while I was living an easy life my parents provided me, he lived in the shadows of factories, enslaved by corporations blinded by avarice. He was a beautiful person in a fucked up world.

Chelsea Wolfe is my new favourite musician to listen to. I just bought part of her album Abyss on iTunes...the reason being that I had already spent much of my money buying a full album by TV On The Radio from iTunes. Her songs are really good. They capture my sombre angst as a twenty-something man teetering on the edge of loneliness. When I do get another gift card, I'll be sure to complete the album collection by buying the remaining songs I didn't get to buy on iTunes.

I saw her live a couple weeks ago. She still keeps this electronic sound even outside a studio setting. I was beyond impressed.

The last part sounds like thousands of people screaming in agony, it never fails to raise the hairs on my neck and cry involuntarily like a baby. One of the best songs ever. What a touching homage to the Foxconn employees.

+Kevin Corrado I'd say the alum is quite consistent in tone. If the album was heavy nonstop it would be boring and the heavy tracks wouldn't stand out as much. After the Fall is also quite an awesome sludgy song. I particularly wouldn't say the album is heavy. It's a dark melodic trudge through hell and back. However my point was mainly that an album needs peaks and valleys, etc etc.

Some of the best works can be challenging at first, always good to listen outside of what you already expect to enjoy.

I know this song is about the suicide of a foxconn worker who loved poetry and couldnt escape the life, but this is exactly how I feel about the world. Dead on. This song is what is in my heart. I love her...been listening to her for years now ever since Advice and Vices came out and Tall bodies...shes always been a favorite of mine. In my top 5 for sure <3

How I'm just listening to her is beyond me. This song is perfect, she's perfect! The beginning sounded very influenced by black metal, I also hear that in some of her other songs as well and saw somewhere that she did a cover of one of burzum songs. Very unique sound she has so happy I found her.

this has poor vocal mixing if you ask me, and it really holds it back.  i know the voice effect is like, muted, but the volume was just slightly off. The vocals couldn't emerge from the pit that the background riffs were distracting me with, and i'm personally offended by that obnoxious droning that starts at 4:20...does this chelsea wolfe hate stoners? :^(

@Dusk Legend I'm pretty sure what you're complaining about was a conscious decision. If you listen to some of her other albums, the muted quality of the vocals being buried in the mix is part of the song.
