Am I the only one who feels like this song is very emotion and personal to Alex? Just something about how strong the vocals, both high and low are, makes it seem that way. 

The whole album's vocals are like that, it's supposed to follow a story of an evil person dying and going to hell, My Damnation(the actual song) does a great job of conveying the emotion. Always preferred these vocals to the later style anyway.

I feel like the lyrics are too brutal for this weak of a song. Not that its bad but it just seems mismatched to me

His Highs changed because he doens't use his false chords anymore on this album, when you listen to desolation of eden you will hear the difference his voice had more rasp in there and was even higher

If you ever get the chance to see Chelsea Grin live, DO IT. I am being completely serious when I say they put on a heavy and badass show. Alex's vocals are amazing live, and much better than they used to. There is just so much energy in these guys and they are fun to hang out with. Seen them at the Infamous Tour, great guys.
