this is total first, i'm a huge, bigtime, lifetime JT fan. don't know how i missed hearing this song. omg jaw dropping, totally divine. then heard Charolette Church and Enya, chanel this only an angelic heavenly hosy of angels could deliver this better. And trust me i'm not a big church fan, infact far from it. this duet, touched me way deep inside my soul, if that's heaven i want some when it comes time to depart. thanks sooooo much for the share, i'm gotta shre it w/ my people.

Perry Fears "In my version it says right after the first verse 'I leaned my back up against an oak. I thought it was a trusty tree. But first it swayed and then it broke.'"  I think this is missing from many covers. I like it and would keep it in.

I'm just now learning this song in chorus. It's so beautiful! It did skip a part im learning though. In my version it says right after the first verse "I leaned my back up against an oak. I thought it was a trusty tree. But first it swayed and then it broke" but all in all this was a great recording and whoever sang it hit all the right notes at all the right times.

This is definitely out of her vocal range....that high note just doesn't cut it. But she does have a nice voice....maybe as she matures she'll be able o hit those top shelf ones

Meh if you sing in a chorus the rest cover the mess ups but it's truly just as bad in chorus as it is solo it's just a lot more noticeable when you sing alone

She's not on the album.

"But when it is old, it grows so cold, and fades away like morning dew."  To me, it doesn't mean that their love for each other got old, boring, and withered away, it just simply means death.  Their love was strong and continued to remain so while they were both alive, it only grew cold because their vessel grew cold and they died.

Nice but have you heard Roger McGuinn's version from 1973? The first one you hear seems to be the one that sticks. Have also heard Karla Bonoff's and indigo girls but I guess I always loved Roger/Jim McGuinn and the Byrds.

It's a song that begs harmony singing, as with Tommy Emmanuel, Lizzy Watkins & Doyle Dykes, but the arrangement here is breathtakingly sweet.
