Charlie Rich - I'll Wake You Up When I Get Home Lyrics
I spent the day just missing you remembering your touch
Counting all the reasons why I love you oh so much
In my thoughts your always with me, every hour, every day
And if I could be with you right now here's what I'd love to say
I know you won't care what time it is
'Cause I've been gone, so very long
And honey I've got so much love to give
You know our bed is big and lonesome
When your sleeping all alone
I'm your man and you're my woman
I'll wake you up, when I get home
There's a nightlight in the bedroom you left it on so I could see
When I turn the sheets back you'll be waiting there for me
Now I'll wake you up, and hold you close, and make our dreams come true
I'll wake you up, when I get home
I know you won't care what time it is
'Cause I've been gone, so very long
And honey I've got so much love to give
You know our bed is big and lonesome
When your sleeping all alone
I'm your man and you're my woman
I'll wake you up, when I get home

I felt so bad in Every Which Way But Loose when Clint Eastwood is trying to find Sondra Locke.
This is my favorite love song of all time.

Charlie was rich in talent. He poured life and meaning into his lyrics and his songs breathed love into many hearts.

Every Which Way but Loose brought me here
Sorry to break this, but that is not Charlie, it's Nashville Session Singers, also apparently marketed under Graham Blvd. Very nice voice, rendition and instrumentals, just not Charlie Rich. For Charlie's soulful version, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Az7zT07TmF0

This is a cover from an entire album of country movie songs done by studio players. Charlie's version was only released on the soundtrack, and it's not easy to find.

Stick to your dead bodies, because you don't know music.
They're right, though. It's not Charlie.

Joey Christopher Absolutely😍
I'm 23 and I just tear up to this song oo you Texas back roads take me home
I may be wrong ,but for some reason this does not sound like Charlie Rich ? Anyone else think the same ....still a great job and a beautiful song ....
This is not Charlie Rich. It's a sound-a-like (still a good job) from a budget recording available on iTunes, by a label that does similar recordings like this.
This song is hard as hell to find. It's on iTunes, but not under Charlie Rich's name. It's one of Charlie's greatest songs, I've loved it since I was a kid back when "Every Which Way But Loose" was in the theaters (late 70's). Lots of great songs in that movie.
Only 18 but love that movie
Great comment!!!
What name is it under? I’ve been trying to find it
I remember this song in the 70's my dad loved this song. Clint Eastwood was a bad dude. Before UFC
I have the 45rpm

Missing mine also tonight and everyday.
A most needed time of listening to these old road trip tunes! Crack em open and toss me the salt & green olives.
Hi everybody! I'm big fan of Charlie Rich (I'm live in Russia). I'm little confused with voice. In some places voice very looks like on voice of Charlie' from 80's. In some place sound very different (not looks like on vocal of Charlie in any songs). Can somebody say exactly? Is that is real Charlie' voice? Of course I know original version of this song. By the way, I heard demo songs of Charlie Rich, but I hear a huge difference in intonation and manner with other demo songs. I hope I'm wrong and this is Charlie :) Thanks for help! Tim
+Charlie Rich Music The only other recording of this song I've ever heard was from the soundtrack of Every Which Way But Loose. I can't say with absolute certainty that this is him, but it really does sound like Charlie Rich on another day, in a later year.
I also know that music artists record several renditions of their songs over the years that make it out on a "Best of" type album which is just another way the recording industry gets our money. Haha. Anyway. In my mind it's him and that's good enough for me.
+Mike Jay Thank you so much for your comment!
This was recorded by studio players for a cover album of country movie songs. Charlie's version can only be found on the original soundtrack. I've seen it on YouTube before. When you hear it, there will be no question that this is not Charlie.

DEMO hes Drunk AWESOME

Inquisitor T. Torquemada at the Bakersfield Zoo...lol...there is no zoo in Bakersfield!!! But I totally loved those movies when I was a kid.

I'm a huge elvis fan and also love Charlie. I so think they could've sang each other's songs. There is some kind of similarity between them.
I remember this song from the movie
I have never understood why this song was put away and forgotten.
Brilliant song, lovely lyrics
Anytime. I can't know what you are going through because I'm not the one experiencing it, but I can try my best to say I understand it's hard and that one day everything will be fine. Not everyone in the world of YouTube is out to hurt others.

Yes it is one of the great Charlie Rich songs that was just about forgotten.A video of him playing the piano singing this tune came out also after the movie. So far no luck in locating it but it is floating around out there someplace. If you or anybody ever gets the video please post it or it will be lost in history. Thanks a lot guy and lets all keep our fingers crossed on the video. )

Real songs from real people.... from a real time.
This song makes my all time favorite list !
Yes in deed.....He is one of the few that had the "Right Stuff".From what I've read he died in Hammond,Louisiana from a blood clot in his lung.Depends on who says it but the age when he died was 62 all the way to 78.If anybody really knows how old he was then please post it.Thanks
Only 62......sad. Docs missed diagnosing the blood clot:(
Common mistake.
