I also grew up on Charlie Pride. Still remember my dad crackin up telling me about BUSTED. He loved that song, but we loved all his songs.

I don't remember this. As a Louisiana boy myself, Im sure Doug Kershaw didn't mind Charley recording this autobiographical song about growing up on the bayou, as my mother did.

I love Charlie Pride but this particular song should never be sung by anyone other than Rusty and Doug Kershaw. Theirs is THE definitive version nobody else can even come close.
