Charles, Ray - Together Again Lyrics

Together again
My tears have stopped fallin
The long lonely nights
Are now at an end
The key to my heart
You hold in your hand
And nothing else matters
We're together again
Together again
The grey skies are gone
You're back in my arms
Now where you belong
The love that we knew
Is living again
And nothing else matters, Baby
We're together again
Well, nothing else matters, Baby
We're together again

My mom died February 4th of this year. In this is the one particular song she want played at her funeral. Because it meant she didn't have too long for my dad anymore she was with him again or I should say together again. This is the first time I've been able to listen to this song since that day of course I'm crying. I miss you Mom I love you.

You have to recall the times, civil rights and integration were still battlegrounds, just after this was cut in the mid-60's Buck told me Ray had called him from London, told him he'd like to record this and CRYING TIME, asked if Buck, being a country singer, would have any objections to that. "I told him heck no, and I had a couple hundred other songs I'd like him to listen to."

This is the second song that Ray covered that was written by BUCK OWENS. The other was the great IT'S CRYING TIME AGAIN. Therefore this is not "an old country" song in the sense Buck was having hits at the same time as Ray.

Your using semantics to argue a point that is so small that it is rediculously insignificant. Being that Buck Owens wrote it and made it famous it IS an old country song.

    A.... S....

He also sang tiger by the tail

    Fabulous.

When Ray died. I decided to explore his music and discovered his country and western recordings. I spent the next 6 months, on the Big Sur coast of California, being enlighted to depths of his music. Those country recordings were a true revelation in how I looked at the history of American music.

I remember this song in the early 60's... my parents had it on a 45 record.....i was like 4 or 5 yrs old...such memories!

  28. A.... ....

Imagine that! A song that a dozen or more artists (and good ones at that) have recorded, and Ray Charles' is far and away the best!
