Charles, Ray - Moonlight In Vermont Lyrics
Pennies in a stream
Falling leaves, a sycamore
Moonlight in Vermont
Icy finger-waves
Snowlight in Vermont
Telegraph cables, they sing down the highway
And travel each bend in the road
People who meet in this romantic setting
Are so hypnotized by the lovely...
Ev'ning summer breeze
Warbling of a meadowlark
Moonlight in Vermont
Telegraph cables, how they sing down the highway
And they travel each bend in the road
People who meet in this romantic setting
Are so hypnotized by the lovely...
Ev'ning summer breeze
The warbling of a meadowlark
Moonlight in Vermont
You and I and Moonlight in Vermont

Charles, Ray Moonlight In Vermont Comments
I love both this and Frank Sinatra's versions. In fact, check out this version of Sinatra's from his 1994 Duets 2 album.

I prefare the one and only Ella or miss Sarah vaughan at this wonderful song its not suited to Rays type of voice........
gotta be frank..much as I do adore ray
Ray's version brings it home. I'm not from Vermont.
Just Beautiful. The Quintessential, Best Version. I mean, just listen to Ray's delivery, and the Heavenly background vocals, and orchestral arrangementt. "Beautiful" is an Understatement. Check it Oht! Ciao!!!
I live in New Jersey, and a lady friend wants me to come to Vermont to visit, convinced that I'll never want to come back. I told her this version is now our song. Check it Out! Ciao!!!
Simply INCOMPARABLE!!
Bar none.
I'M JUST SAYING...
Ella Fitzgerald sing that song beautifully, too !
Ella the great spot on a genius voice unbeatable at this wonderful song l lke Ray but this is not for his style of voice............
I might be wrong, but, I believe that those are THE CLIFF ADAMS SINGERS in the background on this phenomenal song.
I'M JUST SAYING....
Too much SOUL!
"NONE," can compare to this.
I'M JUST SAYING....
I like Sam Cooke version the best
Baby Boom
Brilliant rendition
Can rank with the best.
Much better than many versions of this song, Ella and Willy etc., but not even in the same wheelhouse as Sinatra...come on now
we who love Ray...there are no better versions for us:)
Sanatra's version is not even close to this or Same Cooke's version.
I'M JUST SAYING...
RAY'S rendition is one of the more soulful renditions of this song, if not the "MOST" soulful version of this song.
I'M JUST SAYING ....
Icy finger waves, the warbling of a meadow lark
It's hell being cool. 😁👌
FANTASTIC. Only The BOSS . Version Fantastic.
Mr.RAY CHARLES' version of this classic tune is right up there with Ms.SARAH VAUGHAN'S version of this timeless classic.
They are two of the very best jazz vocalist.
I'M JUST SAYING....
This is my therapy
Beautiful song by the Genius, but why pics of Jamie Foxx?
@gsdsteve
I think it’s because Jamie paid tribute to Ray by playing Ray.
Foxx looks a lot like RAY CHARLES.
I'M JUST....
i have only listened to frank sinatras version but after hearing Rays version..man..i cant decide which is the best..ok...i LOVE them both!!!!
muy bueno
there are a few vocal renditions of this song i like and this is one of them..
Frank Sinatra, or Ray Charles,..I'm voting for Ray Charles.
SuperWoody30
ofc you picking ray charles
They're not exactly in the same genre actually hh.
It is not suited to his type of voice leave it too Ella the great or the fabulous Sarah vaughan....
I love both. In fact, this is the best version Frank Sinatra's.

Maravilloso!
best version ever.
Look at Abby Celso's version on youtube. awesome. Not that I don't love Ray, too!
Finally a song about my home state by a fantastic artist!!
Such a beautiful song :)
classic Baby Ray..,I enjoy this classic tune sung by the great great Ray Charles
Beautiful version of this great WWII-era standard. Along with his version of "Ruby," my two favorite Ray Charles recordings. Thank you for making this available on YouTube.
See AF Flyers comment, get the CD or whatever you listen to, HE makes MIV more amazing than anyone else!!!, ALL of the songs on "Genius Hits The Road" are better by him, than by anyone else that has recorded them!!,
agree totally on 'Ruby.' Equally impressive is Art Farmer's instrumental on 'Ruby." His trumpet statement out of the gate on the theme makes a marvelous contrast to Ray Charles's epic performance.
