Charles, Ray - Moonlight In Vermont Lyrics

Pennies in a stream
Falling leaves, a sycamore
Moonlight in Vermont

Icy finger-waves
Ski trails on a mountainside
Snowlight in Vermont

Telegraph cables, they sing down the highway
And travel each bend in the road
People who meet in this romantic setting
Are so hypnotized by the lovely...

Ev'ning summer breeze
Warbling of a meadowlark
Moonlight in Vermont

Telegraph cables, how they sing down the highway
And they travel each bend in the road
People who meet in this romantic setting
Are so hypnotized by the lovely...

Ev'ning summer breeze
The warbling of a meadowlark
Moonlight in Vermont
You and I and Moonlight in Vermont

I love both this and Frank Sinatra's versions. In fact, check out this version of Sinatra's from his 1994 Duets 2 album.

Much better than many versions of this song, Ella and Willy etc., but not even in the same wheelhouse as Sinatra...come on now

    M.... C....

we who love Ray...there are no better versions for us:)

    M.... C....

Sanatra's version is not even close to this or Same Cooke's version.
    I'M JUST SAYING...

  14. W.... R....

RAY'S rendition is one of the more soulful renditions of this song, if not the "MOST" soulful version of this song.

Mr.RAY CHARLES' version of this classic tune is right up there with Ms.SARAH VAUGHAN'S version of this timeless classic.
They are two of the very best jazz vocalist.

Beautiful song by the Genius, but why pics of Jamie Foxx?

    g.... ....

    @gsdsteve
I think it’s because Jamie paid tribute to Ray by playing Ray.

    g.... ....

Foxx looks a lot like RAY CHARLES.

    Such a beautiful song :)

  32. J.... C....

classic Baby Ray..,I enjoy this classic tune sung by the great great Ray Charles

  33. s.... ....

Beautiful version of this great WWII-era standard. Along with his version of "Ruby," my two favorite Ray Charles recordings. Thank you for making this available on YouTube.

    s.... ....

See AF Flyers comment, get the CD or whatever you listen to, HE makes MIV more amazing than anyone else!!!, ALL of the songs on "Genius Hits The Road" are better by him, than by anyone else that has recorded them!!,

    s.... ....

agree totally on 'Ruby.' Equally impressive is Art Farmer's instrumental on 'Ruby." His trumpet statement out of the gate on the theme makes a marvelous contrast to Ray Charles's epic performance.
