Charles, Ray - Come Back Baby Lyrics

Oh come back, baby
Oh mama please dont go, yeah
Cause the way I love you
Child you'll never know
Oh come back baby, yeah yeah
Let's talk it over one more time
Oh now now
Well I admit, baby
That I was wrong
Don't you know, baby
Child you been gone too long
Oh come back baby, yeah yeah
Let's talk it over one more time
Oh now now
Say If I could holler
Like a mountain jack
Yeah yeah oh people
I'd call my baby back
Oh come back baby, Woo yeah
Let's talk it over one more time
Oh now now
Now one of these days, baby
And It won't be long, yeah
You gonna look for me child you know
And I'll be gone
So come back baby, yeah yeah
Let's talk it over one more time
Oh now now

Charles, Ray Come Back Baby Comments
  1. I.... S....

This song is 12 years ahead of its time. Like James Brown singlehandedly invented funk with Cold Sweat then this song singlehandedly invented the genre of soul, which would dominate the late sixties to the early eighties.

I find it hysterical that four individuals gave this a thumb down! Extra terrestrials? Klansmen? Muslims?

    F.... L....

there are 7 now.  but don't pay any attention to these sad people who can give Ray Charles a thumb's down.  I don't get it either.  I guess they're not taking their medication or something.

    F.... L....

Seriously? Muslims? Are you really that ignorant? And you even judging someone who didn't like this song. Come on! Stop being like that!

  10. H.... T....

Para ponerse de pié y sacarse el sombrero una y mil veces!!!...... que pedazo de vozzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11..... terrible blues este!!

  11. C.... B....

I am white. I am British and I am 66 years old.  I am reading stuff in these comments which I find embarrassing in the extreme.

Ray was the greatest musician of the 20th C and possibly of all time.  I really don't care who 'covered' his songs and who thinks he was bettered by inferior musicians. He wasn't. I was priveleged to see him live in the UK in 1963 and 1996.

Tell me one other musician who could absolutely dominate blues, soul, gospel, R&B, jazz, country etc., in the way he did.

    There is no one else.

    R.I.P. Ray.

    C.... B....

agree completely.  no one, not even elvis, can sing a country blues song (or any song, really)  with more feeling.

    C.... B....

    Colin Berresford Love, brother

    C.... B....

Colin Berresford So truth, the greatest of all the time.

    C.... B....

    I agree!

    C.... B....

foxx is really, really good but original 1957 release, not even comparable

  12. A.... S....

any one here know what is a mountain jack?

    A.... S....

A lumberjack. You find this couplet in many
    older blues songs as well.

    A.... S....

    you must not speak jive.

    A.... S....

    Revealed!!

  13. S.... M....

The notion that any johnny-come-lately has superseded this, the original recording of one of the handful of songs specifically responsible for inventing an entire musical genre (soul), by the original artist himself--Ray--personally responsible for inventing that genre (Sam Cooke deserves a little credit here, too) is an idea worthy of drooling, uneducated 12 year-olds.

    S.... M....

"...the original recording of ..."? Ray didn't write this song.

  14. m.... ....

    He's the best !

  15. 3.... ....

    PETRAI & RENAYNAY

  16. G.... D....

But Eric's black on the inside. Both versions are very good.

    G.... D....

no ,eric aint black on anyside,"culture appropriation just like elvis did, sorry, try again.

    G.... D....

Fuck being black or white let's just enjoy the goddamn music.

  17. r.... n....

  18. P.... C....

  20. D.... ....

  21. T.... ....
