Sheesh, I discovered this guy today...wow, what a gift--and I don't just mean his voice, I mean I feel like I've been given a gift hearing these songs and watching some live performances. It just doesn't get realer than this.

Ha, we have the same 80's musical tastes--for me you'd have to add Joy Division, the Ramones, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, etc., as well as a whole bunch of second wave ska. I've always loved Soul and Motown as well. And, since I discovered Charles, I've been doing the same thing--shakin' my booty and crying! What's with all the crying around this guy?! Everywhere I go where people are talking about him or reviewing  a live show, people talk about getting really emotional. He's  just something special. He leaves it all out on the floor and connects with the audience in a way that is really, really, real. He is the absolute antidote to all the bullsh*t music out there--and he makes me happy to boot, what could be better than that? Oh yeah, and the band is also smokin'. For a bunch of dudes that look like they just started shaving last year, they've got the groove deep down in the pocket!
