Chambers, Kasey - Ignorance Lyrics
Don't wanna read the paper
I don't like bad news
Last night a man got shot
Outside the house of blues
I'd like to ignore it
That the reason for it
Is something I can comprehend
I don't listen to the radio
Last time it made me cry
Two boys went crazy
Fifteen kids died
And I don't know their families
I don't ask 'em how they're going
They're on the other side of the world
I've got something to say
And I thought it might be worth a
mention
If you're not pissed off at the world
Then you're just not paying attention
And you can turn off the TV
And go about your day
But just 'cos you don't see it
It don't mean its gone away hey
We don't talk to our neighbours
They've got funny coloured skin
We see 'em out on the sidewalk
But we don't invite 'em in
We only eat when we're hungry
And we throw the rest away
While babies in Cambodia
Are starving everyday
We risk our lives
We hit our wives
We act like everything is funny
We hide our pain
While we go insane
We sell our souls for money
We curse our mums
We build our bombs
We make our children cry
We watch the band
While Vietnam
Just watch their children die

Chambers, Kasey Ignorance Comments
This song touches my ♥ you are a legend Casey chambers love ya
No need to tune into the mainstream media and hear about every horror story out there. We know bad things are going down. More important to find the good things that are happening. That’s just my take :)
https://youtu.be/AKs_-Burkgo
Change your perspective and get your priorities right. Thanks Kasey ❤️
Classic...lyrics are timeless reminds me of its alright ma im only bleeding the lyrics will always be relevant to the times
Lmao found this song in my textbook on society and culture
CrazedMedusa seriously? How appropriate right now...
I wish everyone could hear this song .
I've been sharing it for years now .
How I feel about Trump right now
That's how I feel about the lies surrounding vaccines right now. Vaccines are poison and they are killing children and chronic disease is up to 54.1% as the vaccine schedule increases to 72 doses here in the United States by age 18. Cancer in children is at an all-time high, yet every single vaccine contains carcinogenic ingredients. Autoimmune disease is through the roof too. There's aborted fetal tissue in 10 vaccines and this DNA can mix with our own DNA and cause autoimmune disease
This song deserves so much more recognition..
indeed.
still so very relevant today even more so I'd say
and more and more, every day it seems.
How true how true
i love this song its just unfortunate its the nasty truth
The voice is just perfect for the song
I heard this song when it first came out and it still affects me so each time I hear it.
This is the first song I ever heard of hers...on internet radio maybe 5 years ago....it stopped me in my tracks. I sat, tears streaming down my face...
I remember this version from 'The Panel' TV series on 10. I was never a fan of Kasey but this song is just amazing but so sad. The passion and feeling in her voice is so powerful.
The true definition of ignorance is ignoring the truth. This song exemplifies that.
I've missed you Kasey Chambers. I remember watching you play with your father and brother in Telluride on that mountain listening to you singing this song and I tried hold back the tears, but still to this day it's impossible. I am glad those plains brought you to us.
Ahhh Telluride.....
thanks Dan! it just touches my heart so immensely, ive not been able to stop listening to it since i came upon it...but all of her songs are seeming to have that effect on me....i just love her voice n style! glad u like this song too! it seems to really hit home with so many horrific tragedies!thanks for listening!
Really love this song too Kathy! I hope Obama bans all guns! And Knives too! Seem like a lot folks been getting stabbed lately! Such a great song!
what an extremely powerful emotional song, such true words...this woman is just incredible! been listenin to her a few days and this is at least the 3rd song, that i am just simply amazed at how emotional and how extremely blown away i am by her! and the power of her songs...such touching ones!
oh my god. sing it with power. and feel the tears streaming through your soul.
Until the world dies it will never go away.
fantastic version
Sometimes, we just need that little nudge to let our emotions pour out, to help us feel better. :)
i guess i need a good cry....i went from patty griffin (you are not alone) to this. damn. love this song. hate what it's about. blessed be
Found myself drawn back to this song today in the light of Newton CT.
Really amazing wow song.
at the end of 'i still cry'
i'm from colorado....first time i heard her sing this i could't stop weeping
As good as the visuals are in this I have to say the audio stands well above.
@kmonkey0707 I'm not sure on downloading from iTunes but I do know on her actual CD album it's a hidden track that starts up about 3 mins after her and Paul Kelly finish singing I Still Pray (Barricades and Brickwalls Album)... so if you REALLY can't find it maybe check how long the I Still Pray song goes for and if it's like 11 mins or something insane like that then that's where you'll find it =]
great song-- love the kasey! and nice collections of photos. if it's not too much of a criticism, it would've been powerful to show an image or two to depict how animals too have it pretty hard some times.....
Peace, my Facebook Friend's. Merry Christmas to you ALL.
I've already seen to much violence in the Columbine Colorado Way, I'm just glad they 'Did Themselves IN', KAPISH? I Love my COLORADO, and I'll Never LEAVE!!
I absolutely love this song. Wish it would go away. I don't want my kids having to worry about this sort of crap.
If This video/ Song don't tell you anything Then This Is why The World Has gone to hell and if it has not gone yet , it's headed there soon.. I believe if people would treat everyone with a kind heart, we would not have songs like this... GET ME PEOPLE !! Good Job with the Pictures for this Video Such A Sad Song, Big Tear Jerker
@SpiritWalker812 Thank you:)
Awesome job. A truly great tribute to a moving song. The photos go so well with the music that it helps to tell an important story.

@kmonkey0707 It's hard to find because it's a hidden track on the album Barricades & Brickwalls. On that album it comes a minute after the last song ended on the cd.
kmonkey0707@ its a secret track on barricades and brickwalls, leave the cd run for a minute or so after the last song has finished, don't send the marfia after me if I'm wrong, I'm pretty sure thats the album its on, ok.
@janwoods100 this makes my hair stand up on my arms and i have no idea y..... but its beautifull!
Great number... Brillant message.. LOVE IT
My favourite Kasey Chamber's song - love this. Wish more people knew about this amazing song.
Great job for a great song
The lyrics still ring true years later. Stop for a few minutes and let the words sink in.
Fantastic love 1:08!!!!!
I love this song so much. I sang it at a school concert with a friend back in 2002 :)
very powerful
kasey is amazing
and this song conveys a very important mention.
The world has a lot of things wrong with it.
If only more people relised it :(
this song is so tragically beautiful.
xoxo
Well said, exactly my reasons for posting it. Thanks Kasey.
You're very welcome and thank you!
