Arif just knew how to bring out the best in her. I remember when this album came out. I was just 12. My mom had no money to buy it for me. I would finally own in 1984. God did I play this album,,, twisted is definitely a stand out track. I always wished it had been a single. Chaka at her best on that entire album

Chaka Khan can put a "twist" to any song and make it song GREAT !

I had never heard The Quicks version, but after hearing it, what Chaka and Arif did with this song is amazing!

I must say I missed this release... It is awesome and Chaka at her best! She is my absolute FAVORITE artist.

During the making of this album CHAKA was uneasy with the direction producer ARIF MARDIN was taking her....but she trusted in his exceptional talents and ended up with a phenominal album!!! the arrangements are unusual...but how can u loose with CHAKA KHAN on vocals?? Thats rite.....YOU CANT !!!

Well we Aries aren't easily led by the nose so I can understand Chaka's reluctance. We need to know you got our back. We can sniff out fakes and false folks and will deal with them accordingly. Our Mars fire will burn you to hell and back.

The spectacular way Ms. CK hits notes are surreal(octave and range), Its an experience, who can have an epiphany, you giggle(can't believe it), cry, laugh, get emotional, and then you are on the dance floor. The complete package singer of our time.

I see this as autobiographical of Chaka's life at the time. Romantically chaotic,locked into a cycle of self medication on drugs. All locked into a syndrome of personal self destruction. And this uses the cycle of romance,for her anyway,as a symbol for the whole "love is a form of madness" theory.

Chaka's music is so esoteric & the fact that those with mediocre IQs enjoy some of her body of work is a testament of her incredible talent!!! Chaka is a thinking man's(or woman's) singer!!! If you want vocal theatrics & meaningless throwaway lyrics for no valid reason then go elsewhere!!! However if your looking for your mind,body & soul to be stimulated then you know where to come!!!

I've been a Chaka fan from 'Rags to Rufus' til today, and this is absolutely my favorite album of hers. Nothing close. It's a shame it's not available as part of her U.S. CD catalog.

This song should have a been a single and there should have been a video. I could just see Chaka with all that hair rolling around on the floor of a padded room like Ms. Ross in Lady Sings The Blues.

Love your nod to Ross but you know Chaka would be like "hell no!" Such an Aries fiery temper.

If you missed this album then you just missed it!!! Sorry 4 your loss too because this is one of Chaka's best ever for my money!!! Twisted is the shyt!!!!! But it didn't stop there. The whole album was classic and it still touches my heart to this very day!!! Don't get it "twisted"!!!!!
