I will never 4get when this came out I ran out and bought the lp and played the hell outta it. This is one lp that is timeless , as so many of Chaka's music is. I cant believe some people never heard this b4. They played this on the radio here in AZ all the time back in the day. And by the way there was a 12" version .

No I do not think it is a cover. Rick wrote this to perform with Chaka Khan and he said in his book that Warner Brothers did not want the song released as a single. I remember it received a lot of airplay on RnB stations but it was not a 45

Loved this song for years.  I was always a big Rick fan as well as Chaka.  Both of them were master arrangers.  Chaka arranged vocals for Robert Palmer and Steve Windwood, Check her out on "Higher Love." Together with Rick on this tune they perfectly blended their musical sensibilities.

It blows my mind that music of this incredible quality only has 18,000 hits while some run of the mill crap has 22,000,000. Sheeet. This album--I used to have it on cassette in 1982--is fantastic. The players, the arrangements, and of course, Chaka Khan's voice. Too bad the record companies never saw fit to put this album out on CD. It's probably one of her best.
