Chaka Khan - Sleep On It Lyrics
[Chorus:]
(We've got to) Sleep on it
Everything's gonna be alright
If we just sleep on it
Everything's gonna be alright
Tonight there will be no more quarrelling
We'll shut out the lights, close our eyes
I don't know how this started
I don't know why we fight
I'll appologize for all the unkind things
I said to you
Why can't I see what's right for me
Might not be right for you
[Chorus]
[Bridge:]
People are gonna think
What they what to think
Feel what they want to feel
I don't wanna see you cry
I don't wanna see you compromise
The things that shine
The brightest in your eyes
Hold on to your dreams
Hold on to them tight

Chaka Khan Sleep On It Comments
Average white band plays the music
Khan killed this!!! Almost everything Khan does is an exercise in vocalizing!!!
I love me some Phyllis,in fact her and my mother hung out when she lived in Miami, but let’s be real!!! Phyliss’ sounds more like a demo or the original version even though she did it after Khan!!!
I keep the game fair!!! Joyce Kennedy did a better version of Stronger Than Before” & Whitney out did the The Khan on “I Was Made To Love Him”!!!’
When Chaka was at her peak and her apex no one could touch her vocally!!! That’s why Aretha called her “A One Of A Kind Premier Singer” & Natalie Cole said “It’s a fabulous instrument,If we could bottle it we’d all be sounding like Chaka Khan”!!!
Chaka Khan is the greatest female singer of all time!!!
Anselmo Carlos Spinelli You better Know She Is!!!
I stole this album in 1978 from tower
this song popped up in head for some reason.....I haven't heard this song in years.
I am without a doubt a HUGE fan of the amazing Phyllis Hyman, and she damn sure did an excellent version of this song. But Chaka Khan NAILED this! From her fiery lead vocals, the swooning backing vocals ( Hamish Stewart lent a hand with this) , and last but certainly not least, the blistering rhythm section, among them George Benson with a guitar solo as only he can do it, and the ROLLING THUNDER BASS of the one and only Anthony Jackson, makes CK's version of this jam the ultimate!!!!
Tommy Williams i agree

Wow I love this song there's so much here soul, jazz, disco
If you love this song, please buy the whole album."Roll Me Through The Rushes" is one of my favorite Chaka Khan songs ever. It makes sense that Prince would be so effected by her music growing up, (he wrote "I won't to rock you Chaka Khan") after he got his first album out, it went to #1.
"Roll Me through the Rushes" is so sexy and beautiful while also being about god. Trust me you can not be disapointed if you buy her first solo album.
+Miles Digby - Actually, Prince wrote the song for himself and recorded I Feel For You for his album. Chaka heard it years later and she recorded it. Her producer, Arif Mardin, added the Chaka rap.
