CES Cru - The Mo Lyrics

[Hook - Ubiquitous:]
Yo man, my mind is on this money, and I keep that money on me
Now we blowin' on that potent rollin' vibin' with my homies
CES from the show me so show me how high that you can go
Now we drivin' slow sippin' on somethin' ridin' through the MO

[Verse 1 - Godemis:]
I want the money, whoever shall disagree can suck it
It ain't a secret so peep it, I'm tryin' to Scrooge Mcduck it
Eatin' off thousand dollar shit that I did right
I get the cream but can't remember eating at midnight
It's just as well, must've puffed a nail with a gremlin
Then again, can't pretend that I'm not a sinner with synonyms
They don't put us on pedestals high as Tech, Eminem, and 'em
Look at me being Christian, I listen then I'm forgivin' 'em
Don't get it twisted you bitches, listen for disses closely
Spit in the face of a monkey tryin' to diss an OG
You wiggin' out, you get ya whole damn hood sprayed up
I'm off my rocker like an old man stood straight up
Been executed, rebooted, gotta be rare
Still might post up in a pic with a chick, I gotta be fair
Swear my bottom dollar is bloody buddy beware
If they dolin' out the duckets, well fuck it, Imma be there

[Hook - Ubiquitous:]
Yo man, my mind is on this money, and I keep that money on me
Now we blowin' on that potent rollin' vibin' with my homies
CES from the show me so show me how high that you can go
Now we drivin' slow sippin' on somethin' ridin' through the MO

[Post-Hook - Ubiquitous:]
Ri-Ridin' through the MO
Ridin' through the MO
Ridin' through the MO
Ri-Ridin' through the MO
Ridin' through the MO
Ri-Ridin' through the MO
Bro we from the show me now show me how high that you can go

[Verse 2 - Ubiquitous:]
Player play on if you're wicked than say your seance
Pray or be prayed upon, I'm shinin' when they throw the shade on
I'm sorry I'm late, leavin' early, I never stay long
When I'm on my James Bond, all y'all kiddies can play with crayons
City liaison laced me with a key, she hold connection
V.I.P special guest and for me and my soul collective
The S.O.P, I keep my letters signed with 'Os' and 'Xs'
Owner let me close the section, sex is a loaded weapon
Sippin' Amarone or Brunello from the Monticello
Slanted eye observe through to the cancer, I'm the calmest fellow
Accompanied by something dangerous walkin' on stilettos
Talkin' over contracts in the back, the dough was all but settled
On my level, fire flower resembled emerald city
Sweaty hippies hold me down, know my nose is rose pedal picky
Love me, she love me not, we translucent to opaque
Gave the bouquet the O.K and relocated to home base
Where the MO is at

[Hook - Ubiquitous:]
Yo man, my mind is on this money, and I keep that money on me
Now we blowin' on that potent rollin' vibin' with my homies
CES from the show me so show me how high that you can go
Now we drivin' slow sippin' on somethin' ridin' through the MO

Ri-Ridin' through the MO
Ridin' through the MO
Ridin' through the MO
Ri-Ridin' through the MO
Ridin' through the MO
Ri-Ridin' through the MO
Bro we from the show me now show me how high that you can go

Not Godi's best verse (or EP, for that matter) I'd say, he's gone from poetically sinister to occasionally odd, he's still impressive nonetheless-- however Ubiquitous absolutely murdered on this track. I think overall this tape was fascinating in some regards but not the height of what Ces can do, lyrically.

John Olson I agree man Godemis on this tape is not on par with his other stuff, but I mean Godemis is still spiting fire but he isn't going as hard as he did on Codename: Ego Stripper and I wouldn't say this tape is bad from CES Cru I think Ubiquitous murdered every song on this project and notice how Ubi had way more time on songs and bars and choruses, on this tape Ubi was way better than Godemis( Again not bad at all, it's fire) but not as amazing as Godi usually can go! Let's see how they sound on Catastrophic Event Specialists! On Gridlock when I heard that Ubi verse I was like how is Godi going to top this since hearing and remembering about this tape but he did surprise me on how good the verse was but I would still say that Ubi had the better verse all of the other projects before this I think Godi and Ubi were on Par but here definitely Ubi killed every single damn bar, chorus, and song

Exactly, Godemis certainly was not on par with his other material here, he seems to be using more colloquial sociolect and less bizarre imagery like he did on "Passenger" off of Codename: Ego Stripper. He went ineffably hard on that album, probably one of his best. He also killed it with the newer tracks on his re-mix tape "The Deevil 6.0". Honestly, as of 2015 he's been writing differently; he hasn't been bringing that morbid, black, villainous Deevil shit for a while. What he writes is still impressive, just not the zenith of lyrical ability.

On Strangeulation Vol. 2, I thought his feature verses were kinda inoffensive and weak, just not his usual stuff. When he was featured on other artists tracks, he also didn't bring it as hard as he usually does. Like on Bernz's "It Don't Go", I'd venture to say that his verse was actually "bad" considering what Godemis can do. And on "Stop Breathing" by Rittz and "Famished" off this EP, I'd say his verses were kinda lame, and innocuous. He's sort of doing that thing SoundCloud rappers do, where they just sort of circumlocute and ramble the whole verse without actually saying anything substantial.

I also noticed his voice has sort of been incrementally going up in pitch for a while, have you noticed that? However SV1, he murked everything he touched, and that album was in 2014.
I agree that Ubi decimated everything on this tape and had longer verses--he's been killing every feature and everything, but Godi's been different since 2015. But you're right, we'll see what he brings on "Catastrophic Event Specialists". His verse on "Gridlock" wasn't too bad, and his verse on "The Routine' (the bonus pre-order track) wasn't too bad either. He still seems to be writing kind of subdued, average shit with a lot of vernacular--not that unorthodox, dark shit--but again, we'll see.
