It's ironic that I met one of my best friends, and played this song. I saw Chloe's comment and didn't understand. Then my best friend said she didn't know what has happening. She felt like nothing was real, nothing was happening, and everything feels fake. I asked her if it was disassociation. I showed her the song again after a year and she said she remembered it

I don't know if this is what Robbie intended, but to me the kazoo represents the sound of someone talking to you while you're dissociating. You can't even hear the words but just a fuzzy, weird sound of a voice buzzing in your ear. Sometimes in a nagging or mean tone because they don't understand you, they're just scolding you trying to get you to "stop ignoring them". Maybe I'm wrong but that's what it means to me.

I like this song but is it bad that first line makes me anxious. Probably because when I am anxious or stressed I unconsciously make myself a bowl of cereal or whenever I go downstairs I start feeling anxious and just start walking back and forth in the kitchen.
