This was one of the most intense 45s I ever played at the time, out of many thousands. It really spoke to me then, and still does. ... "and if I make it to the waterside, will I even find me a boat, or so? And, if I make it to the waterside, I'll be sure to write you a note, or something". What a great verse, what a great record. I think it's his best.

If Cat chose to except the extension of the one faith of Moses and Jesus, which Mohammad conveyed, Cat must have had really considered the divine Writ of Islam very seriously, before embracing it. Cat Steven is surely a possessor of an innermost core. I have nothing but respect for possessors of innermost cores (such as Cat Steven, who had, objectively, considered looking outside of the box, and had the courage to embrace what he recognized to be convincing and conforming to his upright nature, while filling his heart and soul with a peace of mind).

The talent and insights this man had was unreal, and he was incredible in oh so many ways.
Peace Train, The Wind, and Sitting are amazing pieces.
So it is hard to believe and fathom that a man who produced music such as this could throw it all away by joining a religion that murders, steals, lies, cheats, encourages and engages in pedophilia, treats women worse than dogs, engages in terrorism, and practices honor killings.
What a shame he squandered it all by embracing the evil that is Islam.

Let's all tell our age. I am 65 and have ALWAYS been a Cat Steven's fan. His voice is so unique, such range, and so handsome here with the long hair and beard, and you can just tell when he performs he puts his all into it, he is passionate about the lyrics he sings. What a man.

Why is his religion ever an issue? So he's a Muslim, that doesn't automatically mean terrorist. It's a peaceful religion. Some just twisted it into something this you fear.

His voice churns & rumbles with vigor. There is nothing wrong with seeking truth. Walking amongst shadows of men he is always refreshing. Intent is all that maters all is born of intention. The world is convoluted and always will be the best, One can do is be young in heart and mind. If a simple song dose it for you. . . . he has made your life a little brighter...
