I came here because John Landis attempted in 1981to get Cat Stevens to allow him to use this song in An American Werewolf in London (all the classic hits Landis used in the movie have the word "moon" in the title), but Stevens turned him down flat. Seems Cat actually believed that werewolves were real, see, and was apparently concerned that using his song in such a movie might...attract werewolves. Or something. Yeah.

My dad died from cancer 7-10-19, among my last memories of my mother (also stricken with cancer) before she passed 27 days later....when she was still cognizant of the things around her, was our singing this together. Life has so many flavors of pain, and is truly a motherfucker.
