Cat Power - Headlights Lyrics

Last thing I remember
Last thing I remember
Last thing I remember
Somebody was laughing in my ear
Last thing I remember
The sun was coming up
Last thing i remember
Last thing i remember
Hey the headlights are getting to
Close to me
Hey the headlights are cutting me
I can see
Somewhere above me
I can see
My friend weeping
My friend singing over me
Lifting her arms up to the sky
Lifting her arms up to the sky
....
Somewhere above me
I can hear
Like birds singing
Or are they weeping

Get up around eight
Get up around eight
Get up around eight
Get up around eight
Let's make some coffee
And get real stoned
Hey let's play a record or two
A record or two
A record or two
A record or two

Hey the headlights are getting too
Close to me
Hey the headlights are cutting me
And I can see I'm alone
It's cold as hell
It's cold as hell
It's cold as hell
It's cold as hell
It's cold as hell

Cat Power is like as cool as Chan Marshall, and that is very cool.

  2. J.... V....

I got up around 8 this morning and put this record on.

This is seriously the most haunting song I've ever heard in my entire life. It just leaves me gobsmacked.

That's actually totally incorrect, and if the book says that, then Ms. Goodman didn't do her research very well. It's a famous photo taken by Emmet Gowin of a young girl in Danville, Virginia in 1969. I believe the official title of the photo is "Nancy, Danville, Virginia, 1969" or something like that. Aside from the fact that it's just not her, it was taken several years before Chan Marshall was even born.

    Sounds slightly PJ Harvey-ish :)

@rdouglas41: I'm not entirely certain of this, but I'm fairly sure that photo is a Diane Arbus photo. Her work is amazing.
Thanks for posting this song smoerebroed92.

Anyone know anything about the photo?

Awesome version, an emotional shot straight to the heart. I love the intense, noisey and clumsy sound of the guitar , and the primitive way that steve sheley play the drum. A tear of joy falling from my ear, and a eye crying blood, thats what it make me feel. ( i know it could sound stupid, but forgive me.Im realy excited!)

It's powerful and talented enough for an artist to make music as raw, confessional and emotional as Chan, but the most amazing thing is how her music grips all your emotions, it's like some intense emotional epiphany! Her music is rare and special.

  17. A.... I....

this is different from the 7".. where'd this one come from.

  18. S.... S....
