Cat Power - Great Expectations Lyrics

I am like powder, I am like relaxation
I am the snow, I am the snow, I am the snow

I live in a desert
And I let the wind make love to me
I dig in this ocean and i try to fill it with gold
Fill it to the top, fill it to the top, fill it to the top
Do you look for hope in other people's eyes
Well that may be your worst redemption

Do you feed and clothe yourself
Well that may be your best defense

I am from the moon, I am from the moon, I am from the moon,

So they say, so they say, so they say

Facing, confronting, branding each other
We were made through one another

Great expectations, great expectations, great expectations

So they say, so they say, so they say

I am the snow, I am the snow, I am the snow

metal heart or werewolf will still go down as my all time most depressive songs ever, and basically anything by evanescence. try "hello" if you are into sorrow.

  2. K.... M....

    "nice and depressing song"

    "words between quotes"

I am not the snow. I can still appreciate all of its aesthetic and non-aesthetic beauty though. Trust me.

Being capable of determining what makes an artistic expression truly magnificent can definitely help you to create something magnificent yourself. That type of wisdom can make you very beautiful, but so can a lot of other things. Some of them are cheaper than others. Luckily it's all subjective. That's the beauty if it. I'm so punny...

Then I doubt you require the assistance of a mental heath professional.

I'm kind of glad she meandered around. Artistically, she's done a lot because of that. That said, this era is one of my favorites hand down.

    Piosenka na dziś!

What I love about Steve Shelley (drummer, producer, and mixer on this track) is that he knows when to *not* drum. If you listen he's back there with an ominous thump-thump-thump, as Chan and Tim Foljahn's guitars uneasily circle each other, but he's keeping in the background because the song doesn't want a drummer distracting from the uneasy dance.

Chan was 22 years old when she recorded this song. If she'd managed to keep it together long enough to continue with Tim and Steve.... sigh!

listening to her brings me back to the part of myself that gets forgotten. it takes aways every physical thing around me. she rearranged my mind and I feel like I'm going to understand something...that's unexplainable. i just had an epiphany.

  10. S.... R....

Absolutely fucking stunning... dark, harsh, angst-ridden, heartfelt and ineffably intense.

  11. n.... ....

    gorgeous... ^^
i really can feel this song
