I have to disagree. Most pop songs are I-IV-V and occasionally vi in terms of chord structure. This one includes the ii chord, in addition to the B flat chord thrown is as a secondary dominant. The suspension on the V chord (G) is a nice touch as well. Also, Casting Crowns' use of instrumental variety and dynamics between the verses, chorus, and Bridge makes the song pretty varied. I only wish they had written a second verse instead of a repeat of the first.

I think Melanie sounds beautiful especially with her Harmonies...their are parts in some songs that don't work well with lead singers so that is probably why they passed that one on to her!!!
