Cassidy, David - Opening Theme Lyrics
Although life is a serious game
Was it I who played wrong?
Do I belong to that small few
Who get lost in that race?
Who still seem to pretend

RIP Dave,David,and Suzanne
THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY THEME SONG ABOUT 2000
An extended version of the jazz-styled closing theme would have made a sensational jazz tune in its own right. IMO.

Wouldn't the teen idols of the 70s be included in 79s bubblegum?
R I P David Cassidy.
it will be playing in cars 4
KZOK 102.5 sent me here. Danny Bonaduce hosts the morning show on that station.
"Hiya champ, how was school today?"
I’ve always loved this song... and envious of the youngest daughters eyes in the intro. I used to squint so mine would look like hers when it got to her part lol.... ok ok i still do lol
This show might have aired in the early 70's but they started shooting well before then.
This is why it still has that late 60's psychedelic look & feel. Gotta love the era's optimism.
This is the later version – wish you would show the early seasons version with different lyrics and “to hear us singing!” instead of “come on get happy!”.
I think it would be so much funnier with John Madden
Revaluation...
I am brought here because of Ant-man and the Wasp and Goofy 2
The sequels to use this song in 😁
Love that 70' s tv family mix of do - it - all parents, comic interested bystanders. and a lot of kids who one day discover their singing talents; then form a group and move on to fame. Only in America.
19 thumbs down! SMH!
(Season 1 opening theme)
Come on now and meet everybody
And hear us singin'
There's nothing better than being together
When we're singin'!
Five of us and Mom working all day
We knew we could help her if our music would pay
Danny got Reuben to sing our song
And it really came together when Mom sang along
Come on now and meet everybody
And hear us singin'
There's nothing better than being together
When we're singin'
When we're singin'
When we're singin'...
(Seasons 2-4)
Hello, world, hear the song that we're singin'
C'mon, get happy!
A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy!
We had a dream, we'll go travelin' together
And spread a little lovin' if we'll keep movin' on
Somethin' always happens whenever we're together
We get a happy feelin' when we're singin' a song
Travelin' along, there's a song that we're singin'
C'mon, get happy!
A whole lotta lovin' is what we'll be bringin'
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy!
We'll make you happy...
There are TWO versions: The first is titled When We're Singing, and was only used in Season One. The second one was titled Come On,Get Happy, and it was used in Seasons Two-Four.
To tell you the truth, well, The Partridge Family is better than any band today.
my sister was crazy about david cassidy but as a six year old i loved this song and intro still do today fab should have been a mega hit.
I’ll FUCK YOUR PAPPYYYYYYYYYYY
Love the intro...especially Brian Forster as Chris.
GREAT INTRO! I still sing it when I watch The Partridge Family on Antenna TV or FeTv.
I hope David Cassidy,Dave Madden & Suzanne Crough are enjoying this? I don't think they'll do a reboot of this.
was one year old
These are not the themes used for the show's first season.
Is that a harpsichord in the beginning?
When I was a kid, I used to watch the beginning theme for only two reasons:
to see the partridge shaking her tail feathers to free herself from the cracked egg, and
to see the crossbar flourish in the "z" in Suzanne Crough's name.
ant man and the wasp brought me here
While the show was well before me, I do like it. One note though, the opening themes changed from season 1 to season 2. Any chance you could do the original opening. This is the later version.
Manson family or partridge family 🤔
HAPPY NATIONAL HOT DOG DAY!
Confinement sent me here, and Antman sent me back
'Ant Man & The Wasp' sent me here.
And Goofy 2
I was reminded of this because of antman and the wasp
antman brought me here
this song is played in "Antman and the Wasp" movie. i had to show my teenage son where it came from.
“3 days. Okay okay”
*plays drums and karaoke to the partridge family theme*
(Antman and the wasp)
Easy Peasy.
David Cassidy .❤️
I love this song and miss times like this❤
これ、覚えています。小学5年生ころ、テレビで放送されていました。もう40年以上昔の話なんですね。しかし、放送は朝の9時からだったので、例えば祝日だとか、夏休みとかにしか見ることはできなかったのです。面白かった。
I didn't care too much for
The Partridge Family
my sister's loves that show
This is one of a few songs that will automatically bring a smile to my face.
Friday nights on ABC after the Brady Bunch
Memories , lindas remenber!!!
This song is OK but I like the original theme from the pilot episode better.
I always loved this theme reminds me of Friday nights in 1972 my childhood years
Great show I remember I was in elementary school. This was on Friday nights on ABC
But moved to Saturday nights for its last season!
RIP: David Cassidy and Suzanne Crough...
and dave madden
I love the Friday night lineup starting with the Brady Bunch Partridge Family Room 222 and The Odd Couple and Love American Style that was a great Friday night on ABC when I was a child no school the next day and we got to stay up late to watch them all
I’m presently working on a tribute to David Cassidy now and hearing this theme song which I love. May he Rest In Peace.
Animated and directed by the Emmy Award-winning Sandy Dvore.

the better version
Danny Bonaduce and the actor that played the original Christopher did not get along.
David said J.G. did not get along with any of the cast or the producers, especially not with Danny or David himself.
Probably the first TV show I ever remember watching as a child. "Hey there world, it's a song that we're singin..." What do kids see these days as their first bit of TV. Does anyone sing about love and making people happy at the start of a TV show today? David Cassidy, RIP...
Rip david cassidy
So sad we lost Dave Madden a.k.a. Reuben Kincaid, Suzanne Crough a.k.a. Tracy Partridge, and now David Cassidy a.k.a. Keith Partridge. :(
Simone dead, too!? Aw, fuck!
Sounds like how Danny Bonaduce might have reacted.
So Susan Dey and Danny Bonadouce are the only ones left?
I mean Bonaduce
Dave Krieger @TheDoochMan lives.....

Rest in peace David......
Rip David Cassidy . You're talent and personality will be missed.
The news just confirmed that David Cassidy has died at the age of 67 after suffering liver and kidney failure. I always have so many great childhood memories watching The Partridge Family TV show back in the day and always loved David as Keith Partridge. This is a real sad loss and he will be missed. RIP David.
Well Said.
The guy was modestly cool, subtlety funny and amazingly handsome.
Right MeoW indeed, he was handsome
R.I.P. David.
Rip David Cassidy.
RIP Keith :(
RIP David Cassidy
RIP David Cassidy
I love 0:23.
This is the revised version of the opening song which started in the second season. Jeremy Gelbwaks was replaced by Brian Forster. This version was the opening song for the rest of the series.
Exactly.
I like Brian Forster a LOT better than Jeremy Gelbwaks. Also they took the song "When We're Singing",and changed the lyrics so it tells about the family's adventures. Although they homage the Season One title,it's a good theme song!
I was only 6 or 7...but ABC Friday night.."The Partridge Family..Room 222..Love, American Style"..(I had to be sneaky to watch "Love, American Style".....it was verboten in my house)
disoriented1 sounds like an early version of TGIF.
Yep same here...Love American Style was too...racy for a kid, haha!
I would love to see Love American Style boxed set on DVD. I just remember a lot of women in bikinis. And how oddly satisfying that made a youngster feel!
Wonderful childhood memories
always wanted my face painted in red 1970 style like this!
Arte Johnson as Morris
Every time I hear this song, it reminds me of the video game *Kirby's* *Epic* *Yarn*. Not that that's a bad thing. The Kirby games have always had a happy-go-lucky feel to them, and Kirby's Epic Yarn is the one Kirby game that emphasizes that the most (IMO).
Screen Gems was the television division of Columbia Pictures from the 1950's until the Sony takeover in 1992; now it's a B-feature imprint of Sony Pictures.
what a beautiful song
I can't say I am necessarily a fan of the group "The Partridge Family" but I love this intro song and opening sequence. It really did make me happy.

You have a point. I very much remember the opening song and loved it. I don't remember a single episode though which means I never really watched. Come to think of it I actually believed they were a real band so yeah - didn't follow too much.
I used to watch this just for the opening cartoon credits then quickly change
the channel for whatever other cartoons were on then. Good times.
...which probably makes me one of the few girls out there who _didn't_ watch
'The Partridge Family' for David Cassidy.
same here the intro is just so 70's but I preferred the Brady Bunch
Honestly I can't believe this was not on the charts?
This is a screen gems presentation
Jose Corozal yadontsay
I'll always read that with the voice of Elly May Clampett in my head.
