Because he was so famous he had his pick of ladies, but then he should not have slept with her afternoon the last episode. I think that had to be devastating for Susan. When I was a teenager in the UK the 70s, all the girls wanted to have him and all the boys wanted to be him. I was a newspaper boy back then, and he was always all over the pages of every pop magazine I delivered, including the pull out posters that just about every young girl seemed to have on their bedroom wall (how I knew that is another story.) True teenage idols were fewer back then, but they were vastly bigger and attracted adoration on an insane level you don’t see today. The only one I can remember coming close to David Cassidy was Donny Osmond, I’m not sure if their careers peaked at the same time or were a year or two apart but I always had the sense that David was the real deal. Looking back now with a more critical eye I’d say that was well founded; no offence to Donny Osmond but David Cassidy was number one in every sense... performance, talent, image, looks, the lot. We couldn’t say it in the 70s, he was strictly for the girls and (at our school at least) it would’ve been perilous for another boy to give him his due, but I’ll say it now, he belongs in the Hall of Fame (maybe he’s already there, I don’t know.) BTW was this clip done during an early UK tour? After arriving at the airport he is being filmed in a setting that looks like a typical historic English stately home and he looks like he is taking it all in. You can understand how weird life must’ve felt for a young kid finding himself in the middle of all that, being pushed and pulled everywhere by agents and managers, everyone wanting a piece of him, jetting around the globe, surrounded by thousands screaming fans, seeing his face on posters and billboards everywhere. It must’ve been some kind of a mind-f..k.

Was born in 1966, loved the 70s as a little boy, loved the music even more! I was 13 in 1979 and the great tunes just kept on coming! Then sometime in the late 80s rap arrived then grunge! Like a cancer it was over ! We had a few stragglers in the 90s with hits like Aerosmith, AC/DC,guns and roses! But waking up and hearing wonderful music was dead by 2000! This was a lovely song, perhaps the best among an amazing string of hits around that time (1972-73).
Sadly, the plane with his name on the side is clearly a SUD Caravelle, which even then would be considered an 'old crock'.
I think he deserved better.

Hi there, although that looks like Kew Gardens it is actually the garden of Syon House in Brentford TW8, the green house and architecture are similar, it might have been the same architect who designed the greenhouses at Kew, but Syon Park is open to the public and is hidden little gem of a place, it has been used in countless movies and TV programs, especially the interior of the house.

I was a great fan of his but was so shocked when I found out how short he was, he was shorter than me! Loved his songs though, he was a great singer. Very sad that he got dementia - that's an awful lot of suffering for him which must have been horrific. RIP
