An amazing song! The parallels between ancient Babylon and modern Babylon (America) are striking. One of my favorites. And very prophetic. I see today's America as Belshazzar's kingdom was back then. The wealth gap, the super rich controlling things while the poor and middle class suffer. A house divided cannot stand. You cannot turn from the teachings of Jesus and ignore the plight of the sick and hungry while worshiping mammon. It will come crashing down. It almost did in 2008. But we kicked that can down the road and delayed it for a small time. But it will happen.

It’s part of the reason why Trump was able to break up the GOP establishment and replace it with open to free markets and more nationalistic Republican Party, and why the Democratic Party is sliding into the embrace of socialism. The post-soviet dream of a Pax Americana and an American century of peace and prosperity through international agreements and free markets is over - a modern day Tower of Babel, and it is going to end badly for everyone.
