Great song, love Casey James and hope he's doing well. This video to me is symbolic - like people flying through space, walking on water, the dead walking, etc. This video would have no negative impact on any child that was taught to respect Earth and Mother Nature.

It's 4 a.m., 5 years after I enjoyed watching this guy on AI, and I just woke up after having a dream about him singing Lennon's "Jealous Guy". Admittedly, I had forgotten to check up on things after to see what he had released. SO, I've been listening to some of his newer music the last few minutes and really loving it! I just bought the "Casey James" album, "I like Christmas" song and "Fall apart" song on Google Play, everything they had available. Why aren't these songs on the radio? Better than most of the stuff that is. :)

I have loved Casey James from the moment I set eyes on him on American Idol!!  Not only is he Drop-dead Gorgeous(!) and has a great voice,...he's also a great guy.  So glad we'll be seeing and hearing more of Casey.  Love you, Casey :)

I've been a CJ fan since AI & fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. I absolutely love the video! I kind of expected it to be him running into an ex etc... Which I'm sure would have been good, but this is just an unexpected telling of the story & it's so different and that makes it even better in my opinion. Expect more greatness from Casey James!!

Yea, Mr. James has been hard at work on his new record.  He did have a killer debut album which he pinned 2 top 10 hits in 2012. I'm sure you're going to be seeing a lot more of Casey in 2015.

Wow!!! This is fantastic! Love the song and now the video!!!!! I agree with anael55. This video is a breath of fresh air, and again...poetry like the last video " Crying On A Suitcase" was. People have to expand their thinking and go deeper. I'm a poet and this video is beautifully expressed. I love the fact that there are no skimpy bikini girls jumping around like in most country videos.Casey's mom is a poet and an artist and a mental health nurse if I might add, and she always was a big influence on his career decisions. I think that Casey had a lot of input in how his video was delivered and he's no pushover. This video IMO is absolutely unique and creative!!!!! So much passion, and this is what music is all about.I  see the smashing of the articles as the smashing of his heart by whomever and the band member friends are supportive of him. Men deal differently from a broken heart than women do. He is not hitting on anyone, he is not getting high or drunk, he is not smashing his car, but simply finding an outlet, and there are no other cars involved in this storm of his feelings. By the way, he has an awesome voice!!!

This man kills it!! His passion during the performance shots is heart gripping!! It's all him!!!! Genuine Real Honest no need for a crazy provocative story line just , Casey telling the story of a man trying and dealing with love lost and having his brothers by him supporting him all the way threw! As a LONG time fan; I feel compelled to tell the truth. I know this won't go over with some other fans, but....I love this song; the passion and intensity of Casey and the band's performance. I loved that all the band members were included in the video; the hand grip between Casey & Dino touched my heart deeply. The solidarity of these four men traveling together is beautiful. However, I think the use of the open road as a means to let go of the past should be a metaphor; not literal. At best this video needs a disclaimer. There are age old stereo-types about musicians using destruction as an outlet for their emotions. Gorgeous guitars and other expensive equipment have been smashed on stage during a performance. Fine. Many have destroyed hotel rooms and were billed to cover damages and clean-up. They pay. This video takes it to a whole other level. Smashing glass, shells and other sharp and dangerous objects onto the highway at night, where other drivers and wild animals will encounter them; along with the high probability of it causing danger and/or damage, sends a bad message.  I understand this was done for dramatic effect, but it promotes the idea that littering anything and leaving it on the earth is an okay outlet for intense feelings.  Though I have no doubt all was cleaned up, I’d hate to think of young people emulating what they might identify as "cool".  I'm so sad to leave a negative review of this video. I'll remain a loyal fan and attend any shows I can.
 

@anael55  i understand but i am just saying that people could be swayed by the message of those videos, while yes i know a person should protect themselves the videos are still very disturbing.... thats my point. Some have been disturbed by caseys video and its nothing like those that i mentioned. 

@plm4462 I appreciate your willingness to discuss this calmly - and even understand my rationale - thank you for that. Unfortunately we are going to have to agree to disagree. Women horrifically abused by the men they love can feel trapped. I don't think daughters have the power to conjure deadly storms while  their drunken abuser father is too far gone to save. And it takes a very different mentality to send your daughter to a parade, so you can set your home on fire and die while your husband is beating you.  I doubt these scenarios are creating dangerous ideas.  You are right; neither of those two are like Casey's. I've had my heart broken many times, but I cannot relate to smashing gifts or possessions onto a highway.  If I needed to destroy something and do it ritually in nature, I'd probably find a safe place to build a nice bonfire, douse it when finished and come back after it cooled to dump it in a trash bin.  I can't find a way to let this video off the hook. I'm sorry....

@anael55 I noticed in the final scene they pull back on the street and there is nothing on the road but the van.  So did it really happen or was it symbolic? 

@Mary Wiggins  Was it a metaphor?  Did I sully art? I waited with everyone else for the release of this video. I forced myself to watch it a half dozen times over a couple days so I could take in the flawless and compelling performance, before I made my first comment.  In retrospect, I'd love to see it through your eyes. I actually can. Thank you for redeeming it, Mary!  How can you not feel proud when you knew from the first audition that aired on AI? And the backstory with Dino? I'm exhausted agonizing over it. It shouldn't be this hard. Maybe I fell apart? New question: how many young people will go to the lengths we have on here? It's not easy to shake a first impression and impossible to put an old head on young shoulders.  Lets just hope and pray that the Earth doesn't suffer one more drop of abuse for the sake of artistic vision.   

@Mary Wiggins you are all on the wrong path with this. I spent my life in music, so i can relate to this more.
He is throwing away reminders of her. That is all that is happening here. He isnt using the road to escape. The road is his life. A lot of musicians carry around something that reminds them of home. I did it. Its a hard life living on a tour bus with 11 other people and no personal space. Its hard to deal with emotions in that environment.
I too have tossed things that reminded me of an ex. Its symbolic of him trying to let go. Why would you not want your kids to see this???
