Julian Casablancas is for me the Best musician to ever have existed in my lifetime so far. He (and his band members) have exceeded my highest expectations of fucking sick music. If I was a king I would issue an award, like the Queens Knighthood but limited to just one person, Julian Casablancas. I wonder what all the thumbs down people like?... shuch a shame. Well I am one of the 8900 people who gave it a thumbs up, even though this deserves at least a golden thumbs up button.

it feels like the music is just a backdrop for the vocals. i could never match it in a million years, which is something all critiques should mention. especially the ones in Rolling Stone. they wrote of lyricist of Counting Crows, "Alex fancies himself a transcendental poet," which must have hurt like hell, that critics envy. granted, he's no Arthur Rimbaud, in more sense than one, but his voice singing those lyrics to that music in August and Everything After did create something transcendent. Julian? He reminds of a line from the Johnny Cash movie: "Your sound is stead as a freight train because you can't play any better?" Yeah, right.

I liked this guy in hs who never even paid attention to me, and I would stalk him on his social media (ik, creepy lmao), and I saw he liked all these bands like the strokes, and others. I'm so glad I had a crush on that guy because if I hadn't, I don't think I would've discovered the Strokes like I did. Maybe I would've heard of them, but I don't think I would've cared to try them out. By listening to the strokes, I got introduced to so many other great bands. So basically, to the guy who never paid attention to me in hs, thanks.

THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!! I just now discovered the Voidz, the Strokes, and lovely Julain Casablancas because of a huge crush I had last semester on a guy in French class. I had to see why he liked it, to see what his mind was like. If I had never had a freaking crush, I never would've found out about all this wonderful music.
