Carolina Chocolate Drops - Why Don't You Do Right? Lyrics
You had plenty money, 1922
You let other women make a fool of you
Why don't you do right?
Like some other men do
Get me some money, too
You sitting down wondering what it's all about
You ain't got no money that would put you out
Why don't you do right?
Like some other men do
Get outta here, and
Get me some money, too
You wouldn't be wandering now from door to door
Why don't you do right?
Like some other men, like some other men do
Get outta here, and
Get me some money, too
I said get outta here
Give me some money, too
I said get outta here
Give me some money, too

There are men that do right?
Are the CCDs still at it?
video game theme 1930
She is something very special. They're art is not to be looked over!
Admit it. We're all here because of Jessica Rabbit.
her voice is music
My personal no. 2 right after Lil Green´s ´41 release. Also love the live version with Adam Matta´s "trumpet" solo :)
Awesome job perfect timing and control
I have been looking for an old version of this song that I used to have on wax. Long, long ago. This isn't it, but it is the closest I have found. And, WOW! Superexcellent! The interpretation is far superior to everything else I have been able to find, articulation is never in doubt and the intonation is dead center when Giddens wants to put it there, but never 'off' even when sliding into something. Love this.
there's a version from 41 on here by lil green
Interesting. I came here for the same reason - trying to find the version I liked best. Yep - this is it! Rhiannon casts a spell!
Same key as Patti Page does it in. (Em) (D) (C) (B7) and (Am7)
Peggy Lee with Benny Goodman Band
The entire album is great. Check out 'Hit 'em Up Style,' from the same album
Honestly, it sounds more like they've been listening to Lil Green
Awesome cover, you just know they based this version on Who Framed Roger Rabbit
ty for the info. just future ref for trying to post links on here, if you break it down into parts then add 'run it all together to access link' you can get around not being able to post links. again ty for the info, going to check her out there.
I'm not sure she's done solo work but the group has more records on Nonesuch.records. I'd add the link but YouTube doesn't allow it. But Google nonesuch records and it will be first in the list.
i wonder how i can find more of her music?
wow really good love your style!!love this song so much, if you're in love with it like me please check out my version on my channel...very different but hope you'll like it! xxx
haha i'm sure they're pretty political already. just not musically.
yaya yoyo......
CCD is great. Rhiannon is smashing!!!
Let's just hope they don't get POLITICAL!
If you dislike this its only because you DISLIKE yourself!
Ooooooooooooooooooooh this is good!
Damn... Need I say more?
That woman is a seriously good singer.
Lovely version - love the slow blues feel, and the voice. It inspired to do a video response, we hope that you like it, Best wishes, Dave ('Small Days')
Bravo!!!
@GoldHelicoprion Some of us still like Jessica's giant sweater puppies. :p
Hold on! Gotta go and get me a spoon so I can scoop up some of that honey that is dripping here! Ever so sweet! What a voice! What an incredible group!
I prefer Jessica's softer tones, but this is pretty well sung too. ^_^
I absolutely love this!! Wow!
please make a west coast trip!!!
*****
Nice.
Her voice is beautiful!
This is so good...their music is good period.
Nice version! Lil Green & Kansas Joe McCoy must be smiling
@GoldHelicoprion, terrific comment. But they gave Jessica a great line with, 'I'm not bad, I'm just drawn that way.' :)
This girl could kick Jessica Rabbit's ass
...and then Jeessica kicks hers, and then they start kissing, that's some nice movie you got there.
Fantastic. What a remarkable chanteuse. I love her style.
Que lindo!!!!!!!
love this
