Carole King - Snow Queen Lyrics

High on a snow-covered mountain
From her throne she looks down at the clowns
Who think youth can be found in a fountain

High on the wings of her rhythms
She will smile at the guys who come on with their eyes
But she'll never dance with them

And in smoke-filled rooms of electric sound
A legend is built around
The Snow Queen

You may believe you're a winner
But with her you will soon bite the dust
And discover you're just a beginner

You may not think you're a loser
But in mid-air you'll be hung while you trip on your tongue
And it'll only amuse her

In the morning air you are frozen there
Caught in the icy stare of
The Snow Queen

No, my friend, she doesn't want what you're selling
My friend, there must be a place you can hide
And into the night you'll fade, knowing you lost the game
And just how she got her name of
The Snow Queen

I always loved this song, just no one has done it properly yet! Carole King cannot sing, she doesn't know where to put the emphasis and all that. This is one of those songs that has been hard to find until YouTubers posted it. Thank you for that. It could have so easily disappeared without a trace and it's just too well written, the music is too good, to have it disappear into oblivion, even is no one has yet sung it right.

1kinu T Well, why don’t you sing it, since you know where to put the emphasis? Until then, hold Caroles beer. Cheers.

I prefer her earlier version (by The City) but this still is lovely. It's one of those songs that's so good that it's pretty hard to mess up, but my personal favourite version is by The Association.

Jim Gordan on drums. Swinging it. He was a great drummer

She originally recorded this in 1968 on a album called "Now That Everything's Been Said". Blood, Sweat & Tears covered it. I put all 3 versions in my BST playlist. Thanks for the upload!
