Carnes, Kim - Abadabadango Lyrics

Abadabadango, can you hear
It's the rhythm of the heart
That beats for a million years

We all have to use
Some kind of magic
Some of the time
Between the laughter and the tears
A place to draw the line

When they say that you can't
Say that you won't
So don't even give it a try

I know, hard as it seems
To take all your dreams
And give 'em just one more time

Abadabadango, can you hear
It's the rhythm of the heart
That beats for a million years

Abadabadango
Getting loud and clear
If you listen close to the voice inside
That you wait to hear

It's the time we spend awake at night
A dream that you've had before
Visions pounding in your head
That you just can't ignore

And are we sometimes blinded by
Stars get in our eyes
Break someone's heart, falling apart
Then start again one more time

Abadabadango, can you hear
It's the rhythm of the heart
That beats for a million years

Abadabadango
Getting loud and clear
If you listen close to the voice inside
That you wait to hear

Abadabadango, can you hear
It's the rhythm of the heart
That beats for a million years

Abadabadango
Getting loud and clear
If you listen close to the
Voice inside that you wait to hear

Abadabadango, can you hear
It's the rhythm of the heart
That beats for a million years

  8. Denis Desmond

This is an amazing track and its chart position @67 is an absolute insult to the song and to Kim Carnes who obviously put everything into the track and album.

  9. Carlos Schiffini

Kim Carnes a melhor Cantora de todos os tempos

  16. bonnie bianco

forget billboard.this lp should've spawned seven top ten singles and sold over 3 million. bad publicity ?

  18. Marky K

Song for my Ben. He hated 80's music but loved this. Touch and Go was another good one.

  19. Georges Cruz

A découvrir !

    Cicilo1983

+Georges Cruz , tout a fait d'accord avec toi. "Chasin' Wild Trains" est bon du début à la fin.

  20. metsdudenj

This song is a lot better than its position on Billboard indicated, Kim had a hard time breaking into the top 40 from 1984 on, her music didnt find the right audience for some reason

    Mr. Chip

@metsdudenj i think this song charted just as it should have. It isn't very good and her sound had passed her by by the time 85 had rolled around

    metsdudenj

perhaps the music at that time had passed her by but her music was good and I think this was a better song that Invisible Hands which actually hit number 40

    Tim Reyes

The only time after 84 she had a top 40 hit was "Crazy in the Night" in 1985 which charted #15 on the Pop Charts. "Abadabadango" was not as successful stalling at #67. This should have been as big as "Crazy in the Night", this had a good sound to it and had a beat you can dance to. I love the Barking at Airplanes album and the song crazy in the night, and one kiss, as well as this one Abadabadango.

    metsdudenj

I believe Invisible Hands hit #40 in 1984

  31. Unofficial Kim Carnes Fan Club

June, 1985 - For the second time Kim co-produced her album : "Barking At Airplanes".

"Producing myself was an incredibly big step," she said. "It was the first album where every note was precisely the way I wanted it to sound."

    Jürgen Herndljll

    Perfekt!😀
