Carly Simon - Waterfall Lyrics

Something's going down like a waterfall
Some strong feeling's some old love
I saw you and it made no sense at all
Now I feel like there's too much caffeine in my blood

Like a waterfall goin' down
Like a waterfall washing me down
Spinnin' me around
Lord, and I'm drownin'
Like a waterfall going down
Just like a waterfall washing me down
Like a waterfall going down and down and down

You're an old lover making new contact
Making those cold defenses melt
And though lying in your arms is after the fact
Once again I'm feeling like I've never felt

it's like a waterfall going down
Like a waterfall washing me down
Spinnin'me round

Lord, and I'm drowning
Like a waterfall going down
Just like a waterfall washing me down
Like a waterfall going down and down and down

As a huge Carly fan I bought this album in 75 (still have it). Not the most singable of her songs but tone poems. Love the collaboration with James. They were the perfect couple

When he Created that beautiful soul
    aptly named
Carly, the almighty bore her of the water sign of Cancer whom is ruled by the goddess, Diana.
She is said to hold sway over the hearts of men.

    How ironic this truly beautiful
Moon child sang as an Angel in the guise of a beautiful nightingale.

That's why such lovely songs are sang in such sensuous beauty.
    Thanks, Carly.

    Brian.

Diane Benson you totally get Carly as I do. Not everyone does. God graced us with her brilliance.

    Thanks Lori,
I was priviledged to have met her at an affair in downtown Chicago which I believe was around new year's, 1975.

I was there with my Libran financee , Ms . Corinne. She made a real impression upon Ms. Simon.

We were met on our way out by her asst with her contact info and an invitation for Cori to audition ( she was a pianannissimo in disguise & like Carly a string bender, too...).

We saw her just after her then- in production 'it keeps you running' cut & were flatter when BOTH Cori & I were invited on stage with her!!!

It was the best time we'd ever had ..
And that BEAUTIFUL voice out so much talent- I still get shivers whenever I think about it

And that speaks volumes of about being in very wondrous company.

Thanks for understanding my words as I had intended them
    Not many do.

Robin Trower did. He is an admirer of shakesperian descrip of a midnight sonata with a Lady of Parisienne stature.

    Words do, indeed, speak volumes

    Bless you,.
    Brian.

She and James sound so good together.

  14. B.... H....

Memories of 1975. Back when music was good.

    @Brooke Hanley : Ain't it the truth?

    B.... H....

Brooke Hanley Music is still good. It's just we're older now.

@Vince Corvaia Personally, I have to disagree with that. Music genres have changed. I will always treasure the old music of the 60-70s decade..
