Alfred Roy was her dad who passed away. It's a song for him.
i know many people do not like her breathy whispers...but they are honestly the most beautiful sound ever and very unlike other singer's falsettos. so calming and gentle.
They also aren't falsetto. Only women with exceptionally low voices actually have a falsetto. It's a mixed voice aka head voice.
I love her breathy whispers, legit can sit there and listen to the charm bracelet album all day and :) she does it so beautifully 😭

Omg, I always listen to Mariah Carey everyday of my life but never bothered to listen to this song and I thought I hated it so I always skipped it. Now that I'm listening to it, I'm in tears. Not one song by her made me cry, but this is so beautiful!
