I love this song. I lived for 9 months near downtown Los Angeles in 2011. In 2019 I returned and was shocked that I’d forgotten so many little things, but also my sense of direction. I got lost trying to find one of my favourite places. It really shocked me. I thought immediately of the lyrics “reflections of your love have come to wither, I though I’d done my best to memorise.” When we forget things we thought were integral to who we are or were, it’s actually very depressing.

I guess she never cared enough for me i am 33years old she is alive but never cared even today it is like i dont exist only her other kids do.

My mom decided she didn’t want me at 6 months old, and left my dad and I. I grew up without her in the picture knowing that she had that relationship with my other two sisters. I felt rejected and unwanted for years. This is one song that is able to really describe how I feel

my "mom" preferred alcohol over me and still does to this day, my dad practically brought me up from day 1, I don't speak to her and she doesn't speak to me, I could go years without hearing from or seeing her, but it's funny in the job i'm in now working in a bar, I've seen her more in the last 2 years than in the last 25. this song hits me for all different reasons, I'm angry at her but at the same time wish I could have that mother - daughter relationship but I know i'll never get it.
