Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band - Twist Ah Luck Lyrics

Twist ah luck that made you mine
A stitch in time, your path crossed mine
You're the reason, love's the rhyme
It's genuine

Now you're takin' up all my time
When we're apart you're on my mind
Thinkin' about you all the time
Thinkin' about you all the time

Got my heart and me beatin' overtime
Got my heart and me beatin' overtime
Thinkin' about you all the time
Thinkin' about you all the time

I'm glad I played the game I played
And I paid this heart of mine
When we met I lost the bet
And I lost this heart of mine

Twist ah luck that made you mine
A stitch in time, your path crossed mine
You're the reason, love's the rhyme
It's genuine

Thinkin' about you all the time
Thinkin' about you all the time

Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band Twist Ah Luck Comments
  1. Andrew Hendrix

Mike Barnes slagged off this tune and the vast majority of the Bluejeans & Moonbeams album in his very good Captain Beefheart book. He needs his goddam ears testing. This album was made to earn a few deserved dollars for the impoverished  Magic Band musicians. OK it sure isn't Trout Mask Replica but that was a one off. A good tune is a good tune whatever!

  2. Andrew Hendrix

This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Why hasn't this song been used in film scores, adverts etc? It's goddam genius and very uplifting. Captain Beefheart rules.

  3. Richard Garcia

actually look up captains holiday it's a left over song that was left behind in the studio no one including the beefman played on that song

  4. Ed Thomas

"Captain's Holiday" is the Beef Man's best boogie ever!! Ranks right up there with Tarotplane".

  5. John LaStrada

@FastANDBulbous117 - I agree. Sounds like a Rolling Stones song. Beefheart & his band do a great job. Wish there were more like this.

  6. FishingForLobster

loox like only 13 people know what the 7 billion other people on the planet are missing. thumbs up on this tune.

  7. FastANDBulbous117

I actually really like this. I didn't think I would, I'm one of the Trout Mask fanboys.
This reminds me of the Rolling Stones for some reason. I could totally see myself listening to this loudly in the car with all the windows down, and whatnot.

  8. Nick Van der Graaf

I often hum this song - or sing it out loud, sounding like a madman :-)
Good-bye Cap. Thanks for the great music.

  9. blacknganga

Heavy bass bangin', a heavy-rockin' gem.
