Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band - Crazy Little Thing Lyrics

Crazy little thing has just gone crazy
Girl, how'd ya get a name like crazy little thing
Probably the name that drove you crazy all along

How'd ya get a walk
How'd ya get it all to move so smooth and lazy
How'd ya learn to talk real low like that
To where it makes all the men go crazy
Every little thing, every little thing has just gone crazy

The way she move, there ain't no maybe
Talkin' way low like that
To where all the men go crazy

She brings things down lower than they should be
She brings things up higher than they could be

She got the answer to the answer
And my only question is how old, how cool, how low can you be?
(Won't find out from me)

If you're too young, girl, you know you're gonna be the ruin of me
They call her crazy, but I'm hot and she's cold
Crazy little thing, crazy little thing
How old, how old, how old

How'd ya get built like that?
You ain't been here that long
Crazy little thing, crazy little thing
How long, how long, how long

Crazy little thing has just gone crazy
Girl, how'd ya get a name like crazy little thing
Probably the name that drove you crazy all along

How'd ya get a walk
How'd ya get it all to move so smooth and lazy
How'd ya learn to talk real low like that
To where it drives, to where it drives the men all crazy

Crazy little thing has just gone crazy
Girl, how'd ya get a name like crazy little thing
Probably the name that drove you crazy all along

Today's kids haven't got the clue about music. Lucky if u were brough up in the 70tis u get soo much variety. Everything was new.

  4. K.... D....

check out his art - do a google search for Don Van Vliet art. He was exhibited at famous museums like the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco.
His art was probably more respected than his music, at least in terms of the price it brought and the art world giving him respect.
He never got the respect nor success he deserved in rock which is why he finally quit I believe.

    n.... ....

He started as a sculptor about age 12, total genius

    n.... ....

Note how your evidence for Beef's artistic genius was simply to refer to the Authority of The Museum of Modern Ass?

FYI The Museum of Modern Art is part of a massive cultrural subversion scam. _(Captain BeefArt:_ get it?)

What do you think _'How'd you learn to talk real low like that'_ means, hrm? I'll leave it up to you to figure out...in the meantime, take note of the huge strain of musical sarcasm running through Beefheart and Zappa's music...it's a clue.

The truth sucks shit (I dig Beef's music) but _'Better to be slapped with the truth, than kissed with a lie.'_

This song describes a woman that is exactly like a friend of mine. To a tee

  7. W.... M....

    My favorite Beefheart album.

    W.... M....

Trout, Lick, Doc and Shiny Beast are the purest Vliet (Beefheart) in my opinion. Spotlight Kid and Clear Spot were a "pop" rock experiment and I LOVE them! But I think his true musical genius was in the aforementioned albums.
Be sure to check out beefheart.com for all kinds of great stuff!

    W.... M....

@nunayerdangbiznez Some of us were late to the party and only knew the pop side of the captain and zappa. The old "real" stuff just takes more time maybe to really like... for me at least. Not there yet :)

    W.... M....

@castello west Hang in there long enough it will all come to you.

Clear Spot Beefheats best album by far......The magic band at their best. One of the best albums I ever bought.

  10. F.... ....

Think I just found another favorite Beef album. This rocks from one song to the next. SO well done.

    F.... ....

Every Beefheart album has something great on it. He was so talented that even big corporations couldn't ruin him

    F.... ....

Spotlight Kid is a wonderful album

everything on Clear Spot is a favorite but this is one of my most favorite tunes of all times.   It was my theme song in college (not self-assigned, mind you)

I agree completely with this comment. Crazy little thing has me completely hooked, I have been listening to it at least 10 times a day for the past few weeks and can't seem to stop. I am still in shock that it took me 30 years of life before hearing about beefheart. My musical palette was already diverse (or so I thought), but the compositions from beefheart and zappa are just somehow contagious and catchy on a deeper level than anything ive ever experienced prior to discovering them. It amazes me that material like this was written in the early 70s because there was no precedent for beefheart or zappa to go off of, and they pioneered masterpieces from their own instincts, which to me is a testament to the fact that both of them were musical genius' in their own right. This album along with others of beefheart's work is quite clearly a masterpiece of sound.

  12. V.... T....

Only about 1000000 years ahead of his time...
