Canned Heat - It Hurts Me Too Lyrics

You said you was hurtin', almost lost your mind
'Cause the man you love hurt you all the time (note 1)
But when things go wrong, wrong with you
It hurts me too

You love him a little more, when you should love him less (note 2)
Why pick up behind him and take his mess
'Cause when things go wrong, wrong with you
It hurts me too

You love another man, little girl you know I love you
But you love him and stick to him just about like glue
'Cause when things go wrong, wrong with you
It hurts me too

Well he'd better leave you, or you'd best put him down
'Cause you know I just can't stand to see, see you pushed around (note 3)
'Cause when things go wrong, wrong with you
It hurts me too

Il me semble que cette version est très légerement différente que celle de Topanga Corral ( j'ai le disque ).

damn shame they aint around today...we could use a crew like this at the n.y. harvest fest, nobody can play the blues NOMO

Alan plays the bottleneck and lead for most of the song. Henry has a solo in the middle. This info is from an email that Skip Taylor sent me so I think it's rather definitive on this matter! I was so lucky he answered my question which was the same that folks are asking here. Alan's playing is stunning. Henry is quite cool too. Both at the top of their game I would say. Alan was the genius behind it all, I think everyone would agree. This bottleneck is breathtaking.

Joohn Cipollina , Vestine & Jerry Miller from Moby Grape are my favorite white guy 60's rock etc. guitarists.

@miralgo-agreed, you can definately tell thats the sunflower

Love this song!!!! Savoy Brown did a kick ass live version on Blue Matter with Lonesome Dave doing the vocal honors. Thank goodness for places like YouTube, where we can keep this music forever. Long live the blues!!!!!

When the Mole forced the Sunflower out of Canned Heat and replaced him with The Snake, The Blind Owl threatened to quit and join Savoy Brown unless the Sunflower was rehired. Eventually the Blind Owl prevailed, the Sunflower came back and then the Mole quit!

It's not Wilson playing lead guitar - it would surely have been Vestine!

@PolyesterPam Live at Topanga Canyon around 1968 I think.I met these guys a few times when I was hanging out working the Rock festival circuit and they were always real regular guys.last time I talked to them was a show they did at winterland with QMS in 197????1?and both bands looked great but soon after Bear and Dino Valenti kissed the baby. What a sad end to great players.I was lucky enough to see Blind Owl a few times and he was the first to go.
